I'm certain it is, but is this something new? I've never seen a player's name on the outside of a ring.
Really? Most I’ve seen have the player’s/coach’s name on one side.

A lot of UGA fans are pumped about being runner-up, so there's that.

But their team actually won the conference and will get legitimate rings for it.

Every state championship ring at our school has the athlete or coach's name on it.

Never understood why you'd need to talk down the achievement of a team, even if they failed at their ultimate goals or goal. It's possible to be proud to be SEC West Champions and still be disappointed in not winning the SEC.

I feel confident that Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State won't have to worry about whether or not they'd make rings for winning the West for a long, long time

I know that ring gets a lot of hate obviously because of the “#2”. But that was their SEC title rings. Not a ring for being just that, #2.

Still stupid af to put that on there.

The #2 was obviously a mistake. Symbolizing a SEC Championship should have been enough.

Was that Les’ idea?

A ring for winning something is not a trophy for participation. What you’re talking about is more reflective of when Ole Miss made rings just for playing in the peach bowl a few years ago.
