At this point it doesn't seem much different than any other coaching search at big schools.

A&M started to talk to Jimbo's agent in August behind the scenes before Sumlin's last season even started. Sumlin was fired on November 27th. Jimbo was hired December 1st. That's the way it is done.

Auburn owes Steele 5 million for his DC contract

Auburn promotes Steele to HC with no buyout

Auburn fires Steele

Profit

You will have a chance to compare what I am saying when it is over. Then you can call me FOS.

None of those interviewed are HCs in the SEC

Not that big of a reach.

Many people thought AU would look at Stoops and Drinkwitz. Then some floated the rumor about Kiffin. So it would be a reach to make those claims.

Yeah, there are situations that play out like that, but more times than not it seems there is tons of speculation, people claiming insider status weighing in, people tracking flights, and on and on.

I guess I should have said most other coaching searches.

In regards to the search for a new head football coach at Auburn, I suggest that Coach Tony Elliott of Clemson be seriously considered. Coach Elliott is smart, energetic and very successful both on the football field and in recruiting. In hiring a coach like Tony Elliott, Auburn will receive wonderful press and an overwhelming degree of goodwill throughout the country. I feel sure football victories will follow accordingly.

I'm pretty sure that guy is Tony Elliot's agent.

Look at his posts.

No, just stating the facts. I really didn't know much about him until this past week. I doubt AU goes with a coach without HC experience. But have heard nothing but good things about him.

And that said person confided in you and no one else? Who else is aware of this secret information?

Auburn (or at least the boosters that wanted him out) had a plan, it just wasn’t well thought out. It’s amazing to me that trustees, all of whom are ultra successful and wealthy, aren’t able to think outside their bubble and comprehend how the average fan would react to Steele being hired. ( for the record I don’t think it’s a bad idea, but it looks horrible on the surface)

How? We will more than likely just get a “X is Auburn’s head coach”.
You have not named “X”, so there is nothing to compare.
All you have said is basically “It could be a current HC, coordinator, or maybe even a minority.”

Don't need to look. Is it all about Tony Elliott?

JOSH MOON! Folks, he's got the Scoop.

fricking idiot that stays in hiding until an Auburn coaching dilemma arises. The was the goof that gave us the script from the Harbert/Malzhan saga back in '18 when Harbert was trying to talk Gus into reducing his buyout.

I do not know who else knows. I am sure it is not that well kept of a secret in certain circles. Again, all the message board Administrators go the the Athletic Dept for their info.

Keep chasing your tell. If you follow my post on here, you would know I explained myself in detail, but not enough to give a name (except one).

Look up Josh Moon and Bob Stoops. Moon lost all credibility.
