Why would a Bama fan want Auburn to get there shite together?

Yes.

All but 2 commits signed and are waiting until February. I believe we missed out on 2 early signing day decisions, but that's it.

Freeze is a lock to win big at Auburn if we hire him. I hope we do but it’s not likely. Was Kirby a lock at having success at Georgia?

they clearly had no plan other than dumping Gus. Sounded like Freeze was going to be their guy, but then quickly realized that was going to be a disaster.

I feel like this fiasco will set their program back quite a few years.

The sad part about it all is they actually think Kevin Steele is an upgrade

In Auburn world this is all pretty well known at this point.

Steele isn't the backup, he was the plan. I wish this was merely some face-saving shite from AU people but it's not. Nobody backed out. It was the opposite, the President objected to naming Steele the coach without a search, and here we are.

It will save a ton of money if Steele keeps the staff and may indicate that 21 mil was all the family could stomach to get this done. Steele is probably gonna want a raise though.

Coaches agents play games too much these days. They put schools in a bad position to get raises at their current job. Not sure if Auburn thought they had something tied up and jumped the gun but it certainly seems that way.

Who is 'they'?

The only thing I see in Steele is that he is not Gus.

You just proved our point.

Mal Moore had a plan right from the start, and there was only one guy he wanted. Period.

Now, were there speed bumps and road blocks along the way? Sure. Did it look at times like the plan might fail? Of course it did.

But only an utter moron would say that Mal Moore didn't have a plan.

And there you also have another huge difference: Alabama had one guy running the operation. Sure, there were likely boosters who flexed their muscles. But Mal Moore and no one else ran that show.

No one knows which of the stooges at Auburn is running that shitshow.

As a scholarship Donor in the Talon Society I don’t know a single person that thinks Steele is an upgrade.

Well, maybe it's your first coaching search.

Because contrary to what the Auburn clown said above you, we certainly remember 2007.

You trolls keep just trying to wish it into being true. Everything good and bad being said is speculation. You’re skipping ahead and trying to pretend it’s already Tennessee of a couple years ago.

Like anyone, I can’t say how it’s going. But the fact that posts like these started within a day and a half of his firing tell me a lot of people pulling against Auburn desperately want it to be true and make posts like yours simply to convince others it is.

Yes, it is not as dysfunctional as Bammers are praying for.

Me too. I mean, on Sunday I think we were all "nah, that can't be right, surely it's going to come out we were talking to Mario, etc."

But every Auburn source has said almost the same thing (there were no other plans but Steele) and that but for Jay Gogue stopping their plan on Monday, Steele would have gotten the job without interviewing or discussing the job with any other candidate.

Rival fans will try and make it out like we missed on Cristobal or whatever, because it's an easier attack and because it's more fun. The truth is worse.

Now, since the Committee was formed I guess it's possible there were discussions with MC or others, and still could be, but as of yesterday there weren't any overtures being made to MC or anyone else.

No.

Freeze was never considered, apparently. And now that we're looking beyond Steele, he's still not being considered.
