Tennessee was robbed of a 2 seed. Though, they got a decent draw.

So Tennessee beating Kentucky was irrelevant. Just gave Kentucky more time to rest

You think that day really changes anything?

Cal has been trying to tell people this for years. The NCAA Selection committee ignores the SEC Tournament unless some 10 loss team wins it and they're forced to adjust for the automatic qualifier

Yeah, that is true. This year shows how meaningless it is to the over all seedings.

Yeah but why are they ignoring our actual season?

Which is why every top team should've been sitting out of their conference tournament ever since Kenyon Martin broke his leg.

I don’t know why there’s always so much selection committee bias for the Big Ten.

Their last title was in the year 2000. Before that, 1989.

Seems like it’s the same story for college playoff selection. The b1g (+ Notre Dame) tends to regularly be overrated yet they keep getting the nod with these committees.

Big Ten basketball and Notre Dame football postseason favoritism is definitely a parallel phenomenon.

NCAA makes almost all its money from the tournament, it’s like 80-90% of their operating income.

If you don’t think they doesn’t have any impact on the selection you are crazy. They want as wide an audience as possible

Well, I hope adding Rutgers and Indiana makes them bunches.

My guess is that besides Ohio State, B1G has no teams that could realistically compete in Football with the SEC.

Hence, there is much of the market in the midwest that gets excited about basketball because they feel like they have a chance. And, compared to football, they do to a degree.

Wisconsin has made the final four in the past 10 years, and I can recall Mich St and Michigan making pretty deep tourney runs somewhat recently. Plus they have "traditional powers" like Indiana and Maryland (who won in 2002 when they were ACC).

There's a lot of $ for the NCAA to pump up B1G basketball.

I don't think they are. It's not like a 3 seed is bad.

You got a pretty good draw though, right?

Sometimes dropping down a seed works out. As long as you’re not flung lower than 3-4, you’ve got a chance at getting a good setup that might’ve been worse at a higher seed.

I’d rather play Colorado state than Murray state in the second round.

That Murray St./San Francisco game is gonna be a good one, I think.
