Best D-line they faced all season + looks they hadn't seen yet. Took them some time to adjust, but they did. Still put up over 500 yards.
This. UGA put up a fight for a half and Venables used all kinds of smoke and mirrors, but Auburn had by far the best defense we faced.
Our biggest issue in that game was that we got very conservative after taking a two score lead. That played right into their D’s hands and we didn’t fully close the door.

Great D line play that got pressure without blitzing.
Great Red Zone defense.
Pretty much this. Those 2 dlinemen wrecked shite all night.

red zone interception, stopped at the 1 on 4th down... left some points on the field
Didn’t Stingley also have a muffed punt that gift wrapped a TD in that one?

Gus should get a raise.

The field helped Auburn as much as holding helped the LSU O-line.

If we play Auburn in a dome we put up 45 on them easy.
That field was the single biggest reason we struggled in the game

So I take it LSU didn't get many yards then?
Posted on 1/14/20 at 3:34 pm to PhillyFan1994
We still put up 500 yards.

Auburn’s 3-1-7 was the first time LSU was faced with that lineup last season. It’s a combination of our elite defensive line with this new look. By the time other teams started using it, LSU developed a plan to attack it.
I am pretty certain LSU would score more than 30 against this same team if we did a rematch

I will need to go back and check the tape but I honestly believe we both played on that field
Could be wrong. Will get back with you

Do they give trophies for this ?

True. You only scored 20 points and less than 300 total yards.

So you're saying our offense is bad? You think we didn't know that?

And they did it at Tiger Stadium. My question is how? Did they just matchup well? Had a good scheme? LSU had an off day? Or did they just have a better defense than UGA/Clemson/UF/Bama?
Good matchup. Good defense.

Oh please. We schemed perfectly. If we had even a funtctioning retard at OC and QB we win that game going away

No. But they would have last night if Clemson had held them to less than 20.

Remember that part in The Longest Yard where the guards flooded the practice field and the convicts had to practice in the mud slipping and sliding all over?
That's what the field was like.

Factors
1. Great DL
2. Rain
3. LSU’s gameplan wasn’t great
LSU had 0 respect for Auburn’s Offense.
So basically we got pretty conservative play calling wise to avoid turnovers while being pretty agressive going for it.
Which lead to a lot of runs up the middle into the strength of Auburn defense.
People pretend the 3-1-7 slowed Joe down. We moved the ball pretty well. They did a good job keeping things in front of them but Joe had a lot of yards.
Issue was we turned the ball over on downs twice in Auburn territory.
1 Series involved 2 QB sneaks on 3rd and 4th
The other involved 3 straight runs on the GL and then a WR screen.
Not exactly our usual MO.
