Freeze is not the savior I thought he’d be. By now I was sure he’d have Auburn ready for a ten win season and upsets over the big boys.

He’ll probably need 8 wins to keep his job, might not get there.

Yeah, alot of sites I've saw have Auburn as a darkhorse. Not that I have any love loss for them, being a UGA fan, but I figured them improving over last year significantly. I've predicted on other threads that Auburn, Florida and SC with that super-duper QB of there's, will all be knocking on the door of the playoffs.

So you are predicting that here as well right?

Well, I'm no expert, but they look improved over last season to me. But if this recruiting thing don't get straightened out, you better enjoy it. Cuz it'll be the last season in a loooooong time that we'll be able to say this.

You can't hang with the big dogs without talent. I hate to sound like 'Captain Obvious' here, but at the end of the day, the team bringing in the 4 and 5 star players are going to end up playing for the trophies.

Some schools are acting like the new rules don’t matter and they can still give big contracts. Reality will sit in come November and we’ll see where everyone stands.

This. As I said in another thread, Auburn’s lawyers and administration are reading the tea leaves and to them they think a new collective bargaining agreement is being established and have decided to largely sit out recruiting until after August 1st because of a potential salary cap about to hit college football.

They think that everyone else is rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic ignoring the inevitable. If Auburn’s lawyers are right, massive contracts have been verbally given to players that aren’t realistic with a salary cap.

We’ll see who’s right.

I think it will work out. Auburn football has a lengthy record of making the wisest decisions for the program.

alabama football has one ten win season this century without Nick Saban. They were on probation and didn’t get to go to a bowl game.

The other ten win season got vacated by the NCAA.

Thats neat and all but I don't see how it's at all relevant to barn football and it's track record.

This might be true for a handful of teams in the country, but I can assure you Arkansas hasn’t been breaking the bank with offers. This just smells like a major excuse, if I’m being honest

If this is true, then why is AU the only school that is taking this approach? Wouldn't it make more sense for others to be taking the same path.

They are in great hands under the leadership of John Cohen, Hugh Freeze, and Jimmy Raines.

No clue, that’s a great question. A big battle appears to be looming.

The Michigan House of Representatives has introduced a bill to ignore NIL investigations and ignore compliance associated with the clearing house.

Other state legislatures are following suit.

Do you want to compare 10 win seasons? It sounds like you do. Here are the number of 10 win seasons for each program.

Auburn: 13
Alabama: 43

Interesting notes. Auburn has only had consecutive 10 win seasons once in its long history. Between 1892 and 1974 Auburn had one 10 win season. They were 10-0 in 1957. They had as many 10 loss seasons during the same time frame, going 0-10 in 1950. Alabama has had at least one 10 win season in every decade since 1920. That is 11 decades straight. Auburn has a 10 win season in only 6 of those decades, and none in the current decade. Thank you for bringing up the subject.

^^^^ said Alabama wouldn’t be able to recruit in the NIL college football world. When proven wrong and was mocked for 100+ pages he changed the thread title to try to avoid more.

Also guaranteed Ryan Williams would sign with Auburn.

Moral of the story is that this guy is clueless about college football.
