True but if I'm wanting a particular coach then I'd be willing to take the slight cut to help get him. That's all I'm saying.

I get what you're saying, but Auburn can find 2m if it wants to pay Muschamp that. But it would be crazy, IMO

Not sure where she graduated, but her family lives in central GA. I think Muschamp got his master's from AU but not sure. I know they loved Auburn while they were here.

Gus Malzahn wasn't our OC in 2012 when BVG was here. Good effort, though.

AUsome. Hard to keep up with the rotating door of DCs that are trying to save you from another losing season 2 years removed from the NCG.

Maybe he wants to build an A&M or SCAR up to major program level? Not sure DCs think about such things, though.

Build it up and let the HC get all the credit? No one credits Kirby Smart with building up Bama do they?

Just a little bit of fact checking before you pop off about auburn is all it takes.

So yes, asking the world of you.

Auburn has a 3 game SEC losing streak. I have that one confirmed by multiple sources from 3 states. Better?

Actually BVG aka "Stache" and Loeffler aka "Lefty" both came in the same year. There was huge AU support for those two coaches - expectations were out the roof because Lefty coached Tom Brady!

Is Auburn having money problems? Are we going to have to shut down another program?

I believe 'taught him everything he knows' was the sentiment we deluded ourselves with.

What would that say about how upper tier assistants view A&M and USCe in comparison to AU if he take the AU job for less money than the others offered?

How much does Brian VanGorder make now? I'm sure AU could bring him back. Wasn't he supposed to save AU last time Gus needed a sidekick?
Well, would you look here...another misinformed Alabama fan. No, Brian Van Gorder was hired at defensive coordinator when Scot Loeffler was hired as offensive coordinator. Both were on staff in 2012. Gus Malzahn left for Arkansas State after the 2011 season.

No it doesn't. $1,000,000 would already be in the highest tax bracket.

Great way to diversify your resume. Go to the same job you've been at 3 times before. Brilliant strategy.

So, taking the same job at different locations is diversification? The only diverse thing about his move back to DC is working under a different coach.

sounds like they know to avoid the place then. Scar it is!

shite a former HC like boom would be far better off working for an OBC, a Richt or a Pinkel, than any other SEC coach.

So let me ask the experts this time, since I obviously don't know my AU history....

When Boom was last at AU, didn't he leave for the same title at another school? If he loves AU so much, why would he have left?

If I'm not mistaken, UF still owes him money, so whatever anyone pays him is just that much less that UF has to pay out. He will be making the same amount no matter where he goes.

If those were the best and final offers each school had, do you honestly think 300K would be the deciding factor for Muschamp? That's a jack load of money for you and I, but for that guy, who probably has SEVERAL million bucks sitting in a bank account because he can't spend it all....Everybody assumes he wants to get back to a head coaching gig at some point, just like everyone assumes Nick Saban wants to go back to the NFL and that Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher are going to get back in the game.

Either he's going to pick a job based on location/family/stability or the one that will give him the best opportunity to be a savior. Come to think of it, Auburn actually offers both....
