Good. The passing game will open up the running game.
I firmly believe that Gus does not need a dual-threat QB. I also firmly believe that Gus' O needs a QB that can throw the deep ball with accuracy. If that can be done, it opens up running lanes....it doesn't matter which runner has the ball in his hands at that point.

Its amazing how we didnt have rushing lanes all game but had 2 130 yd backs and the qb rushed for a td.

No Einstein, I specifically titled the thread the way I did to compare Auburn's O vs Clemson's D. Auburn please tell me not all your fan base is that touchy. I want you to win the game. Please do not make me say it again. I think I made it clear that I am pretty worried about Auburn's Oline against Clemson's D Line. I pull for AU every weekend. They are may favorite team on the West, but I am seriously reconsidering this. I am starting to remember why I quit posting here years ago. Geez

Clemson's D-Line versus AU's yet-to-gel O-Line is a bit of a concern. As is the fact that Stidham has happy feet and never got comfortable standing in the pocket and pulling the trigger. I think Clemson's O will struggle against AU's D..but even on a neutral field, I wouldn't favor AU based on what we know now. I just hope that what we know in 5 days is a good bit different from what we know now. And that wouldn't be crazy at all.

Clemson has an elite DL. Our OL is talented and a mix of experience and inexperience. We won't have Kerryon Johnson, but we will get Kamryn Pettway back and have solid depth at RB. We'll get our share on the ground.
Clemson has a solid MLB in Tre Lamar, but nothing special at OLB or any of their DBs.
Stidham will settle in and we have weapons all over for him to throw to.
Auburn will get our points on the board.... not to mention we have the best Kicker in the history of CFB.
The other side of the ball is where Auburn wins this game. Clemson is not ready for what they'll see from our defense, and we are going to eat then alive. They have a solid LT, but dude is going to get his arse worn our with Jeff Holland, Paul James, Marlon Davidson, Big Kat Bryant, ect, ect coming at him non stop. The rest of their OL would is shite tier, probably wouldn't be our 3rd string.
Deon Cain is a solid WR, but Carlton Davis, Jamel Dean, and Javarius Davis are better corners and will shut that shite down. Renfrow is nothing without Mike Williams and Artavis Scott to take the attention off of him. As for the rest of their WRs, Ray Ray McCloud and the lollipop guild, I'm not too worried about them. They can't even see over the steering wheel.
They are deep at RB... deeply average. Mediocrity coming out the arse. Nothing special there to be worried about.
Their QB is a poor man's Mike Vick, but slower, no moves, and not dynamic. And scares nobody with his arm.
Needless to say, Clemsons offense won't be doing much. Our defense will be dragging our huge nuts across their offenses face all night long.
Auburn wins going away. Three TD win for Auburn.

I thoroughly enjoyed that analysis. I hope you're right.

Yeah and Kyle Davis will be back so we'll have more reliable options at WR.

Clemson is a NC team.
To have a chance:
1. Win the turnover battle
2. Run enough to get them to load box
3. Hit some big plays
4. Red zone TDs; more than FGs
Of course, the above are fairly standard FB goals

I see Auburn being able to throw all over Clem between the 20's but stalling out and settling for fg's. If AU's defense keeps Bryant in front of them and doesn't over pursue, I like their chances. If he's truly able to throw the ball efficiently and being at home, he could do enough to win.

I don't see how Bowl predicts this as 3 TD's either way. This game is going to be an old fashioned Pat Dye-style slugfest. I feel like Auburn is prepared to play this game and they'll get our best shot. Whether we can control the line of scrimmage enough to consistently convert on 3rd down and get the ball in the endzone remains to be seen. I know our defense will keep us in the game enough to have a chance late. Gonna be tight.

The two biggest reasons Auburn lost this game last year aren't in play this year. Baring an injury, Auburn only uses one QB and I don't see Bryant hitting those back shoulder throws that Watson was abusing Auburn with.
I'm going ahead and saying 27-24 Auburn.

This is a great matchup. Both teams are solid across the board and both teams have unproven QB's. Auburn has an excellent Oline and Clemson has an excellent DLine.
This shapes up to be a premier game. I'll be shocked if either team gets blown out.

Auburn needs a passing game to win..If Clemson only has to contain the run I like Clemson's chances..
That also applies to Clemson's offense...Auburn will make Clemson beat them in the air...I think we have a bit of an advantage there because our O-line is outstanding and Kelly Bryant has one of the best corps of receivers to throw to.
This game is all about the turnover battle. The team that wins the turnover margin should win this game. Clemson having the home field advantage on a prime time game should be a major intangible. Hopefully the crowd can affect some delay of games, false starts...
IMO, I think somewhere in the 24-28 points should be enough to win this game.

I think it should be interesting Saturday since neither team played anyone worth a shite last week. There are too many unknowns. How will a stout looking Clemson O handle what looks like a stout Auburn D? Can the Auburn O move the ball on Clemson? Is Gus actually going to turn the keys over to the OC? It looked like a Gus called game just from the stat line when looking at the run/pass ratio.

Auburn will have a tough time rushing on Clemson
Kent State had 119 rushing yards. I don't think Clemsons defensive line is as deep this year.

The Oline did a pretty good job at run blocking. Honestly, with Pettway back, it should help. But it hurts to lose KJ. On pass protection, it looked pretty bad, especially early on. There was the fumble returned for a touchdown after Stidham got hit, but I am not sure if Tega jumped the gun or KJ just blew his block on that one.
Watching the game, Stidham looked like he was taking way too long to make a throw. Now I could not see it all, but the announcers said that in several of those cases the receivers were not getting open. But again, Stidham has two years of rust to knock off, so I think his hesitation will be reduced.
I am sure it is going to be incredibly loud there as well. I don't think it will throw off the offense too much due to how the plays are called, but we shall see.
Clemson will have one of the best defenses we see this year, so I expect it to be tough.
It should be a really good test for both teams, but I think there is a lot more pressure on Clemson.
