I don't know what would be the bigger farce. 1983, 1993, or 2004.
In 83 Auburn got emasculated by Texas at home in what was the biggest non conference game in its history and barely squeaked out about 3 or 4 more wins by 3 or less points and ended with a bowl win over a Michigan team that didn't even win its conference. They just want to claim one for B-b-bo and the drunken convicted NCAA cheat coach they named the dirt in theor stadium after.
1993 no bowl game because of said cheats cheating. PlusFSU wou ld of pushed their shite in.
2004, noone wanted to see USC beat their brakes off for athird year in a row and they didnt even make the BCSNCG.
What other schools claim a non AP, UPI or BCS Championship after 1970?![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Some facts: From Toos.
AU uses the AP/Coaches/BCS standard and thus claims 2 NC's.
By that standard I will list how many NC's a school could claim and then how many total they do claim, using other selectors as my book proposes.
ND 8/11
Mich 2/11
MichSt 2/6
bama 10/15
Tenn 2/6
ole miss 0/3
Ga 1/2
TexAM 1/3
Ark 0/1
Ky 0/1
Pitt 2/9
Oh St 5/7
USC 7/11
Cal 0/5
Ga T 1/4
Minn 4/7
Illinois 0/5

1983, Auburn played a much tougher schedule than Miami, they played like 5 top 10 teams.

1983 was one of the biggest hose jobs in CFB history.

Nebraska has a much better claim than Auburn. They lost one game by one point at a neutral site to the undefeared NChampion. Auburn got beat down by Texas on its home field in its biggest home nonconference game in its history.

Uh, no they don't. You are letting the reputation of Nebraska cloud your judgement. Look at what that team actually did on the football field. Look what Miami actually did on the football field. Then, look at what Auburn did.
The resumes aren't even close.

I'll go ahead and admit that the1983 and 2004 claims aren't completely absurd because you at least won the bowl game and had a strong argument for #1. However, Auburn fans will have to completely shut up about ANY of Alabama's claims the second y'all claim 1993. Auburn wasn't even eligible for the SEC championship game much less a major bowl that year and some of you have the gall to claim that one? That's as bad as Alabama's 1941 claim.
P.S. I only took issue earlier with the 1983 claim because it is almost identical to the 1977 Alabama season which Alabama doesn't claim. An argument can be made that both schools should have been national champions those years.

No one should deny that y'all got screwed in 83 (just like Alabama in 45 and 66).
Posted on 2/1/14 at 10:58 am to Korin
Homeboy saying Nebraska had a better claim than Auburn when they beat 1 (one) ranked team, and that was #18 Penn State in the very first game of the season, is off his rocker.
