Why has this turned into an Auburn vs Tennessee discussion, or the LSU retards making it about themselves? The question is how Auburn has allowed itself to lose to Vandy this consistently across all sports.
Football: Yes, most of the losses were pre-1950, but no other original SEC school has a losing record to Vandy. Hell, Auburn has a losing record over the last two decades against them, too
Basketball: That's not even close. Including a recent loss in your home arena
Baseball: Yes, you guys have a winning record there, but Vandy baseball has two natties, and y'all have never even played in the final championship series
Women's Basketball: Not that many people care here, but you would think, just by the nature of Vandys weak athletic program, you might have a winning record here
Education: I don't fault you guys here
Why is it that yall have struggled with them?

Also interesting is that Auburn is the only original SEC school with a losing record to Vandy in football. And it's not like they have played a handful of times; they have played almost 50
Auburn: "Bama only has so many conference championships because they kept Vandy on the schedule every year to ensure an extra SEC win!"
Also Auburn: Has a losing record to Vandy

Predicting Auburn's random "really good out of nowhere" years is a difficult job, but being able to tell when they will have a down year is pretty easy. You just look and see if Vandy is on their schedule.
It is crazy we seem to always land Vandy when they are having a historic season and Auburn is at our worst (2008, 2012, 2025, etc).
Unfortunately Auburn has played Vandy the least of any traditional SEC program since Vandy's program went off the rails in the late 1950s.
Auburn is 15-4 against the Dores since 1956, but the majority of our series history was back in the day when Vandy was an elite Southern powerhouse.
Tennessee started out 2-19-2 against their instate rival back in the early days.... Vols didn't take a lead in the series until the late 1950s. The difference is TN has had the luxury of playing Vandy every season since their program fell off the rails in the late 1950s and Auburn has only landed them 19 times in almost 70 years.

Because you started a thread about Auburn, retard. What did you expect? Auburn owns your arse so you have to live through Vandy. The same Vandy team that beat the shite out of your Vols at home last season.

If you think there is no difference in playing Vandy prior to the mid 1950s compared to after the mid 1950s, then you know nothing about the history of the sport.

Because Auburn has been the superior program since General Neyland retired in 1952.

Auburn has played Vandy more than:
-LSU
-MS State
Both have winning records against Vandy

Vandy was very good back then. However, so was Auburn. Y'all even retroactively claimed three national titles from that time period, so it doesn't make sense why y'all couldn't beat them when you claim 3 natties, and they claim none.

Yes we hired Neyland with the expressed purpose of beating Vandy. This is known.
Either way, look beyond football. They have beaten you consistently in other sports as well. Auburn is the only original SEC member to have a losing record in both football and basketball (mens and womens) to Vandy

it is never fun playing Vanderbilt. They are always scrappy and the announcers want to cream their pants hoping Vandy wins. I believe it was Ed Cunningham in 2016 that was over the top partial towards Vandy. We are always stuck being shitty villain with a past versus ugly shitty nice guy with asian eyes.

So was every SEC school except Vandy. Yet they beat Auburn. Very interesting

Imagine being so desperately bitter about your team being 1-7 against Auburn since the turn of the century that you feel compelled to start a thread where you live vicariously through your in-state rival. Now also imagine calling out someone else for losing to Vandy when your own team just lost to them by 21 points at home just 8 months ago.
This is VFL. LOL.

We have played them 19 times in last 70 years. Recently we have had bigger problems than Vandy

What a dumb azz. We beat you in all 3 sports this year just like you’re pointing out to Auburn. And get ready for another azz whipping in November.

If this is what you have to tell yourself to make you feel better, then so be it. Whether you want to admit it or not, it is truly incredible that Auburn is the only original SEC team with a losing record to Vandy. Pair that with y'all's lack of success against them in basketball (men's and women's) as well as their obviously better program in baseball, and anyone should question what the problem is.
Hell, I wish y'all would beat Bama and Vandy more. They are our biggest rivals, but it doesn't seem like y'all have been up to the task

Congrats on y'all's one good year where you didn't make the playoffs in football, the sweet 16 in basketball, or the baseball postseason. I will happily give y'all flowers for a better than normal showing in 2025, but there wasn't much to show for it

Given that Heupel has an average margin of victory of 34.5 points playing at Vandy. I'm not too worried about it

I don't have to "tell myself" anything. It's a hard fact. Auburn is 7-1 against the Vols since 2000 and leads the all-time series by a long shot. Why would I tell myself something when I can just look at the record book?
