Yes, because the "Quaterback" major has a rigorous undergrad curriculum here at AU.

AU is overrun with folks from GA b/c the hope has made UGA so tough to get into. And generally speaking, admissions rates for out of staters is higher than in staters b/c the schools love having the extra $$ they bring with them. Anecdotally at least, I have heard it is much easier to get into UGA as someone from AL than someone from GA.

Either way, both are good schools and tough to get into (AU has become so much more difficult in the past 10-12 years it is ridiculous). Meanwhile, in Tuscaloosa all they require for admission is a pulse, an eight ball of cocaine, and two houndstooth articles of clothing.

Highly selective schools, both public and private, tend to award much higher grades. In a paper on grade inflation, Rojstaczer insisted, that wealthy students, who gravitate to private colleges in greater numbers, are receiving unfair advantage by having access to easier A's.

Overall, students at state universities earn lower grades than their peers are private schools. According to Rojstaczer, the average GPA is 3.01 at state schools, but the GPA at many state flagships the GPA is 3.2.

Flawed logic. The kids admitted to highly selective schools would be more likely to receive higher grades no matter where they went.

AU admissions have gone WAY up in recent years. I believe the minimum ACT score is a 24 or 25 now, it might be higher than that.

I don't think there's a hill of beans difference from one SEC state school to another. Sure, UGA is harder to get into than AU, but I doubt there's much of a gap from an academic standpoint generally speaking. A kid majoring in Econ at AU would likely fare about the same at UGA.

I know the average for last year was 27.2 on the ACT. That's pretty stout
