They do have a good path to the elite 8, but don’t sleep on St Mary’s. They are good.

Why are people just assuming Louisville beats Creighton?

Yeah we got to get our AD on the committee. Cakewalks to the E8 in back to back years.

They really, really shouldn't be.

I’d rather face Louisville for matchup reasons. Creighton has guys than can mark Broome, which will put the onus on our guards. They’ve not been playing well lately.

Doesn't matter the draw, Foy, if you stub your toe in Rd 1.

They are up and down. Two weeks ago the Auburn guards scored 77 points in Lexington.

I think Auburn makes the Sweet 16 fairly easily, but Texas A&M looms in the 2nd weekend. And Buzz Ball is a bad matchup for Auburn.

I'm certainly not, and Louisville ain't that good for Auburn to be sweating. The ACC sucks.

A #1 overall seed should make it to the Sweet 16 no matter the circumstances. And then you get to play all the way to the Final Four 1.5 hrs drive from campus in a city half your alumni live in. No need to make pre-excuses.

Eh, the Zags ran up their NET ranking against terrible competition in the WCC. They're not that good this year.

Houston will shut down their so-called high-efficiency offense if the Zags can get past Georgia, which is much stiffer competition than every WCC team they played except maybe St. Mary's.

They also lost to OU, the SEC’s third to last team.

Terrible competition makes it really difficult to achieve a high NET ranking unless you are extremely efficient. Gonzaga has the longest Sweet 16 streak in the nation at 9. Guess who is number 2 at 5? Houston. No other team has more than a 2 year streak. Mark Few knows how to coach and a weak schedule hasn't been a factor come tournament time. Very tough draw for Houston as a 1 seed.

That is a road game also in Lexington. I have never understood the purpose if an overall one seed if the tournament is seeded for matchups.

Auburn should not have been the #1 overall seed to be quite honest. Lost 3 out of their last 4. They're a 1 seed, no doubt, but Florida is the best team in the country right now. They absolutely dusted all comers in the SECT but the NCAAT Cmte does not care about conference tourneys unless you're a bubble team or steal an AQ. Gotta wonder if the NCAA was being sly about giving Auburn the favorable host site but not really following doctrine on how they placed their seeds out.
