I dont need to read more than 1 post to know that you are a 13 year old girl when you use "sux" to describe anything. Auburn football is coming back and in a year or two we will be beating LSU.

Good post and I agree. I think the plan is to parlay the iron bowl moral victory into winning the sec west.

so how is auburn gonna compete for the west again? I know you had a decent class but bama and lsu have been getting decent classes for a while now. also, if you auburn fans are predicting freshman to come in and save the day,it'll be a long season for you. what did cheesedick do? dial "1 800 a sec defense" and poof auburn has one. you made lsu's inept offense look like all americans. also you don't have the horses to run that gimmick offense in the sec.
Crawl back in the swamp coonass!!

We are bringing in the #1 JUCO QB in the nation.
We return 4 senior offensive linemen who have started nearly their entire time at Auburn.
We are bringing in a 330 pound tackle from Juco to play Right Tackle.
We are bringing in the #1 running back in the nation, returning Onterio and have most of our offense returning such as Adams and Zach.
The defense will have depth at linebacker and will be able to rotate to get some rest.
In the second half of 2009 the defense was as good as the second half of 2007 in nearly every category.
If Auburn reduces the yards per possession by the other team by 3-4 yards it would put us at the 25th ranked defense in the nation. That is a very achievable goal for next year. Also we have several linebackers on campus now ready for spring ball. Whittaker will play immediately and is expected to make a strong impact early. Fairley will be at 3 technique next year and should be solid since he's used to playing a full season and hopefully will stay healthy.
Simply put Auburn's offense was 16th ranked this year when Todd stated he couldn't make all of the passes Gus wanted. Newton can and easily does make those throws as he can throw 70 yards. We have the ability to put a top 10 offense on the field next year if Newton is just an average QB if he lives up to potential you could see a very dangerous offense that other teams will simply have to try and out score us. The defense will make great strides next year as we never tried to get pressure as we simply couldn't risk things due to no depth at safety and linebackers so our game plan was VERY conservative.
This all sounds well and good, until people start getting injured.

He took snaps at UF in 07' played okay talent last year in the last two games of his season (the NCG) but our schedule sets up nicely. Our road games are at: Miss St, OM, UK and Bama.

Better hope he learns that wack-arse system Chizy/Zahn run pretty quick.

Newton is already enrolled, he will have more time than Todd did to practice it. Todds shoulder wasnt in throwing condition until the summer. Plus Newton has something that Todd has never had, strength and atheletic ability.

Todd only have 5 Div I starts under his belt before the 2009 season many people forget this fact.
Todd's armstrength was not very good throughout the year, when the staff says they checked on his arm throughout the year it is a telling fact.
Newton has played cleanup at UF and against UF's defense so he has an idea of the speed of the SEC.
We have a senior loaded offensive line that will help protect him. Also he is very large and at present is living in the film room studying the offense to learn it.
he has some work to do on his short screen passes as he puts a lot of power on them so receivers will need to practice catching but overall so far so good.
Also Gus intends to throw 30-45 yards deep 7-10 times per game, all we have to do is catch one and it keeps the defense from cheating safeties up. Todd did not have this arm strength he struggled with much beyond 15 yards.

No kidding? Who'd have thought that was a factor. Bama has had major luck the last two seasons with very few injuries and none to key personal. Had Bama lost someone on the offensive line in 2008 you'd have seen a drastic decrease in performance.
Injuries are all part of the game. We can take one at receiver and one at running back as we have Dante but anything to a QB or offensive line and it would make the season interesting for any team not just us.
