I understand making sure he doesn't get injured but I would think he'd run a little more than that. It seems that you would be taking away from this offense's potential by not running him. I don't see him running like Cam or anything but I could see maybe five or six designed runs a game. I agree though in that I think that the less he does it the better from a predictability and injury standpoint.

injuries happen...you cant gameplan for them.

he is not a small guy. Let him run but make sure he can slide.

He is biger than taylor MArtinez and NEb needs that guy to run.

I'm anxious to see how it's run because I don't really think it will be all that similar to what Loeffler ran at Temple. He was handcuffed by the athletes he had there. With the athletes Auburn has he has a lot of freedom to throw in a little option here and there or something else.

It probably won't be as run heavy, but I'd be willing to bet we run the ball at least 60% of the time this year. Westerman was quoted a few days ago as saying we're going to be pretty smashmouth in that regard.

I think we'll see a good bit of I formation, but I definitely think he'll mix it up enough to keep the defense guessing some.

I'd be surprised if we ran a true option with Frazier just because they don't want to get him hurt. The QB takes too much of a beating doing that.

Yeah, but we're not Nebraska. He'll get his runs in, but I just don't think you take the chance of having him get injured by running him more then a couple times a game.

Trotter and Moseley both ran it a few times last year for disastrous results.

The offense concerns me this year. I'd like to see them play a little to get a gauge for what CSL is installing. We have a lot of talented players on that side of the ball.

That's true. And Cam did it once or twice in 2010. But Gus's option plays were always weird. It was a half-assed play where the QB always pitched as soon as a defender looked at him.

I thought that was obvious.

The defense concerns me more. If we don't have a guy who can even get us lined up, we're in trouble.

On offense, I'm still worried about the youth on the line, and adjustment to the new scheme though.

What Fraizer's athleticism allows us to do is utilize things like the roll out to move the pocket; similar to what Mike Shananhan likes to do. It cuts the feild in half for reads, but for a young guy that is not always a bad thing. Then he has the option to run if the room is there.

You have been known to go a little overboard with your criticism of him every once in a while so I was just making sure.

From Joel Erikson

quote:

Not sure if this means anything, but Moseley’s throwing motion almost looked a little like a three-quarter delivery to me. Maybe that’s just me, but he has said shoulder still is not 100 percent.

Other writers have insinuated that the shoulder was at about 80%.

My no flame AU post of the day. These are rare, so cherish it.

What direction does AU head in if KF struggles with the vertical passing game?

No one even knows what direction AU is going if KF plays well. I would guess run heavy, slants, and screen passes.
