I just hope they don’t get a good coach. SEC is hard enough without Auburn balling out. #keepHarsin

Auburn had made its job pretty damn unattractive to coaches considering the pressure and treatment put on Harsin.

Hell no, most coaches who know anything about the profession ask these questions:
1. Why did AU give Gus such a big contract extension for his performance ?
2. Why would they hire Harsin ?

They would pay highly for success and the are willing to spend money on football. That makes it a very attractive job for any coach worth a damn.

And with very powerful boosters that the AD refuses to keep under control that tries to run coaches off in their first season. That is not a look that makes coaches want to fight against. Until the AD can stand up to the boosters and make them stand down Auburn will struggle. I think you and most Auburn fans know this, but can not reasonably do anything about.

You have no clue what goes on at Auburn and just believe what is fed your . Typical DA fan. You have no clue how ANY university AD is run. No AD stands up to boosters with money. UGAs problem is their boosters with money are not contributing to the program, at least in the past. Their location ment they should have been ultra successful in every program. Facilities always lagged behind.

Auburn is about to start a cycle similar to what Tennessee has seen and Texas is about to continue.

Don't forget Florida. We've yet to see if they're going to be able to find their way out of the wilderness with Napier.

Eh, either one of those cycles still beats an average year in the existence of Miss Stake football

They won their last game. What more can you ask for?

Unfortunately winning a NC is problem solved. Still dumpy facilities and other sports programs. No excuse.

Who signs up for this? Auburn has two juggernaut rivalries that can be chalked up to losses if the last 15 years are any indication of future results. That leaves them with a 10 win regular season at best, if everything else goes their way.

UGA was an underachieving program that played in the SECE and still didn't achieve anything. While AU played and got beat up playing in the West. They would them meet in November and one team was usually beat up. Things will change with no division and a 9 game schedule.

It's all about leadership. We finally have a well-connected president who seems to care about athletics. The former
president couldn't care less...

This should be the realistic goal, 10-win seasons and occasional wins over our rivals. Maybe a stellar season and a play-off appearance every 3-5 years or so (new playoff system)...

Basketball is more important to us now but football is still the money maker, so can't ignore football...

And Bama sucked prior to Saban arriving in 2006. We can play CFB History all day long but it doesn't change the reality of the current power structure in the league.

It's not unrealistic to say you're not getting to Atlanta without going through Tuscaloosa or Athens until some seismic shift happens.

They sucked over a 5 year stretch , but AU made it to Atlanta when Bama was at the top of their game.

How many SECC does UGA have the last 20 years?

Look, this isn't something that has to be done over a 10-day period. I think the decision has been made who will be Harsin's replacement and they understand the "environment". A decision has been made without an permanent AD in place? Interesting.

How many program are there where the AD makes the decision on who the next coach will be? List them in the SEC.
