Arkansas was an absolute dogfight last season for you guys. Your team isn't any better. Not sure their team is either. I expect another dogfight with Arky for you guys.
PSU is nothing special and haven't been for awhile now. But neither is Auburn and the game is at their place. Could go either way. Both of those games are on the road actually, which strengthens my angle even more.

JMO but you will be able to tell this year if Harsin is special or just a good coach. If he can do much more with less this season then the barn has made a good decision regardless to the amount of money they spent.
Coach Dye showed in year one that he was going to get it done just as soon as he recruited better players.
We'll see. I hope they never win another game, set, match, inning or meet.

I highly doubt he will do much this year. The pieces just aren't there, and the competition is tough. I fully expect a mediocre 6-6 season. I'm not sure how barn fans can expect much more. The team just doesn't have much talent.

I think you will be able to tell with some things. But we've had a few hires that looked great in year 1 and 2 and fell apart after that.
Dye and Tuberville both started slow and made small improvements and gradually built their teams. I hope it looks like those two rather than the other three.

That's a fair point.

Ohhhh Skippy, Skippy, Skippy...You are the poster child of an Ultracrepidarian. Aubie has at least 8 players who has potential to be All SEC. Defense will be stout, kicking game solid. If the coaches can develop that weak side offensive tackle, continue to work to keep Bo in the pocket....Aubie could be dangerous.

Depending on the recruiting.... I give him 3 years to 10 wins.

If my Aunt was my Uncle she'd have a nutsack. Whole lotta if's and maybe's. Pipe down on the delusional hopes and dreams.

Interesting question.
Historically, it took Dye 3 years, Bowden 1, Tubbs 6, Chizik 2, and Malzahn 1.
I’m going to guess it will take Coach Harsin somewhere between 1 and 6 seasons to win 10 games.

Skippy, Skippy, Skippy.... if ignorance was bliss, you would live in Utopia. I made a relevant statement yet you choose to be cute and a smart arse. I’m over 18 and can say what I want and don’t take orders from you.

not to mention...........arguably one of the best RB's in the entire nation.
ETA He may have transferred out. There was a lot of talk of that happening after Harsin was hired.

Honest expectations? Who wants honesty? Irrational exuberance is the order of the day.

Well one thing for sure he hasn’t coach a game in the SEC so we shall see. However anyone thinking Auburn doesn’t have any talent will be proven an idiot which is not surprising since there are a lot of idiots on this board.

No doubt about the talent. There are some incredible players on the team. Talent, however, does not win games by itself. Need to see the game plan in action before making predictions. At least I do.

I think year 3 is when AU will know if Harsin can get the job done long term.
I will say I’m very happy with the way he has approached the task ahead of him. The previous staff seemed to be extremely haphazard in their methods, relying more on luck than meticulous planning. CFB is more science than art, and Harsin seems to prefer a logical process, much more than his predecessor.
I also caution tRantards to hold a lot of stock in what happened last year. Not only is there an entirely new staff top to bottom, the portal has also had a huge impact on AU’s roster, through addition as well as subtraction. The two deep in game 1 of the Harsin Era will be significantly different from the 2020 Iron Bowl, especially on defense.
I’ve said repeatedly that we will probably go 6-6 this fall. So long as we look like an actual program instead of a loose conglomeration of mismatched parts that occasionally end up on the same page of the playbook, I’ll be satisfied. For now.

He'll be history long before a 10 game milestone will ever happen.

Auburn is unranked and underrated so that means we will have a good year, it is written.

Whats even more crazy is Auburn is the last team in college football to beat Alabama.
