For the last 2 weeks, everyone has been dogging Auburn and talking about how bad y'all are. I have seen a few posters on here who appeared to give up on the season. There was largely defeated attitude around the program. However, with tonight's game, Auburn looked respectable and like someone you can't chalk up as an easy win. Do y'all feel like y'all got your pride back even though y'all are 1-3?

I do not think there are any Auburn fans on here now, they may be all out celebrating their near win.

I've been on the ledge for a few weeks now. I don't know if you can say we got our pride back because we are 1 and 3. However I do think our defense finally found some pride in only giving up 12 points to LSU. I honestly can't remember the last time we gave up so few points to such a quality opponent.. So if the D continues to play like that and improve, I'll have reason to be optimistic... It finally felt like old time auburn football for the first time in 5 or 6 years.

Auburn fans were just fine and dandy after they got their moral victory and went out to throw TP on their stubs....

I neither lose or gain anything based on things posted by strangers.

At the end of the day, 1-3 is 1-3 and it upsets me that we're at 1-3.

We played well on defense, but I've never been one for moral victories.

That was the D most AU fans expected or had hoped to see game 1. The first 3 weeks have looked like nothing had changed. The first time I felt good about this game this week is when BVG threw Wayne Bolt's sorry arse out of the defensive coaches meeting a few days ago. I think that sent a message to everyone, players included that he was in charge of the D and it was his way or GTFO. That kind of attitude has been missing since Muschamp was in charge of the D.

Our defense did look a lot better. We need to hang on to BVG, that guy will get that unit straightened out.

We need a QB so badly.

The way it looks now is BFV was a solid hire, as a Bama fan, we can only hope Texas needs a new DC soon.

plus it's good that we are finally putting the fricking talent we have recruited on the field. It's one thing to say, no one's job is safe, but that doesn't mean shite if you just play the same guys every week no matter how poorly they play. Also glad to see Wallace in at qb. Frazier needs to produce or grab a fricking clip board. He is the only thing holding this offense back.

What did you think about burning his red shirt?

Support it. Frazier is the anchor on the SS Auburn.

Does it really matter? Mosely isn't any better than Frazier, and SL is bringing in his own qb with this recruiting class. What do you gain and what do you lose? I'll take burning a redshirt if they give him a chance to show he can complete a forward pass. We already know Frazier is hit or miss when it comes to throwing the ball. If he establishes himself as a decent passer, then maybe we have a qb to work with for the future. All that being said though, the coaches burned his reshirt, now fricking let him play and be a qb. None of this read option only bullshite

Moral victory is one of the lamest terms used on a message board. I don't understand how one talking about the improvement of your teams play, equates to being good with the loss?

I read nothing but posts where AU was to be steam rolled, and yet the fact they weren't is a moral victory for Auburn fans? Tha frick? Hell no I am not happy we lost. However, we lost, game is over, it sucks bad. we had opportunities, but didn't take advantage. Fact is our play on defense improved. Since when did that become a bad thing to discuss?

Hey when you haven't played defense in 4 years, an old school defensive battle like this is reason enough for me to be excited. You can't compete consistently in this league without a solid defense, so I'm hoping this is the beginning of us turning the corner. I'm still not happy about the way the season started, but I finally have a reason to be somewhat optimistic.
