Download Google Earth. There is a view historical tab to it. You can work through different seasons and time periods that way.

I turn them off after about an hour after sun up. They are great at getting the ducks attention, but more often than not flare more than they attract.
^^^ this... They are extremely good at the first of the season but lose a lot of their effectiveness towards the middle to end of the season. The remote is the way to go. As soon as they lock in, we will turn them off.
Duck Hunting Action Camera Shots

Got a Midland Action Camera at the start of the season as a gift. Started filming a couple hunts and this is what we got so far. Not bad for a cheap action camera.

I think you have to watch it on desktop for some reason and that it has no mobile access. No clue why.

Looks like ya'll have a fine hunting set up. Good video. I plan to put my GoPro to use Saturday.
The best part of filming it is the downtime. Some of the comments in the video are probably better than the ones of us shooting ducks. ha.
Buddy's Duck Hunting Clip

We finally got a action cam that we set up for some of our hunts. One of our freinds ended up putting it to some old school church music. The timing of it just made me fall over.
LINK
By the way, if you didnt grow up in church... you may not find it entertaining at all.

100% agree with this. I hunt the River where I live and I am in the same situation as you (no boat or dog). I use a extremely large spook lure. All you have to do is cast it somewhere near the duck and walk where the line will go over it. The hook will catch it and you can pull it to the shore.

Yeah we are fishing guntersville. Did the dog plant and bridge give it away. Ha.
Any other places you'd advise on going? We will be out there at night so probably won't run the dam.

I am going to try it. However, if I show up to my buddies with hot dogs, soap, and a six pack... There may be concern. Ha.
I am actually going to give all of tips above a try just to see what works best.

Stationary in the boat with a Rod and reel. There is a dog food plant off the lake we were targeting and also under a bridge. We talked about doing the jugs as well but don't know if he got the stuff to do it.

Catfishing- any tips

Usually a bass fisherman, but a buddy has gotten into catfishing pretty hard. We are headed out this weekend to do some late night fishing. Any suggestions for bait or setup. Outside of catfishing farms as a kid, I haven't fished for catfish in probably 15 years.

I did not realize there were gators up in North Alabama until about a month ago when a buddy took a pic of one while he was fishing. It was in Cotaco creek right off the river near Huntsville.

According to Guntersville Police Chief Jim Peterson, a shark found on the banks of Lake Guntersville was a hoax. He says a fisherman found the shark Wednesday morning at a boat ramp near the Outlaw Steak House. Peterson says the naturalist from the Lake Guntersville State Park came and examined the shark. She says the fish had clearly been dead for days and was in an advance state of decomposition.
That settles that... ha.
