No. No one enjoyed it. The ghost of Gus Malzahn lives on.

I took a number of days on my last visit to just look around. An amazing part of the country. I too stopped at Gettysburg and visited Amish land going up and had some shoofly pie. Those buggies look dangerous.

The pageantry of the running of the pedophiles was quite the spectacle.

The wife and i (Many, many years ago) took the kids up to Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks. Went to Easton, Hershey (for the kids) and Lancaster (for the Quakers)

We flew into Philadelphia and yuch. Horrible. As we drove out into the country, I was shocked. Lush green fields. Absolutely beautiful country. I was genuinely impressed. I got a lot of respect for Pennsylvania on that trip.

I have enjoyed traveling through the Amish farm country. it is beautiful countryside. I have been to Gettysburg a couple of times, had ancestors that fought there.

A lot of that state is forest land.

We didn't go to Gettysburg, which is a regret...we didn't think the kids would be interested as they were very young.

Yes, the countryside was forests and farm land. It was absolutely beautiful.

Isn't the joke that Pen is Philly on the east, Pitt on the west, and Alabama in between?

When I was in high school (20+ years ago), my parents indulged my love of American history and we spent our summer vacation with a drive that started in Atlanta and went to Gettysburg, Philadelphia, a side trip to the Statue of Liberty from the NJ side, and then home through Baltimore.

We saw the transition you did, but in reverse. Going from the Amish farmlands into the city. The A/C belt on our car broke not too long after we left Gettysburg, and so we got to drive past all of those lovely dairy farms with our windows down.

I had fun- it was very much an SEC environment. Got to hang out w/PSU old men ex-players tailgate- was unfamiliar w/most of them honestly but they couldn't have been nicer. Tailgating was limited to parking lots and tent row- didn't see any freelancers under random trees. Whiteout looked like a sea of pompoms-that was cool. Stadium was very loud at times but not consistently loud. Bringing back ex-players to lead the 'We Are..." chant was cool, especially the Taliaferro paralyzed man. Campus was nice but Fall weather hadn't come in fully yet-still glad I went.

Wow. Nice of them to do that for you.

My father-in-law owned some chicken houses down south of Griffin. He used to clean the chicken litter out then sell it to farmers to fertilize their fields. The sheriff called him one day and asked if he had been spreading the litter at a certain location. He said he had, and the sheriff explained that he had gotten a call that there (Apparently) had been a dead body dumped in the are. The caller said he could smell it but could not locate it.

Farm country is beautiful, but it has it's challenges, too.

Tailgated (Lot 12) with a family of Penn State grads and fans. They couldn't have been nicer/more hospitable. Looking forward to hosting them next year in Auburn. The only jerk fans we encountered (and there were a lot) were more student age. Mouthy, not funny, and were my stereotype of Philly fans (or uga fans with northern accents and even coarser language).

Stadium facade is weird and unimpressive from an architectual standpoint. Odd location -- not the center of campus like JHS. My son-in-law who made the trip said it reminded him of the setup at UK. Very cool environment inside -- I have been to Death Valley (LSU) a couple of times, but it has been a while. I would rate the Beav as louder when it hit full pitch, but not by some ridiculous multiple. I was in the North end zone (lower bowl). Experiencing that will cure you of every complaining about JHS facilities (bathrooms and vending areas) ever again.

Didn't get to spend any time touring campus or the town, so no comment there.
