It only added $2mil to the buyout but give stability to the program for recruiting. Not the absolute worst thing in the world

That is one monumental CRAP SHOOT for Auburn! Haven't they still got coaches laying all around pulling checks from the Auburn athletic dept? The only reason that would make sense is that recruiting could be getting some kickback from prospects about who the future coach will be (they're hearing the rumors).

We should never hear an Auburn fan say crap about any other current coach in the SEC West.

Our current Athletic Director probably gets canned if Malzahn fails. He may be trying to poison pill Auburn as his future is tied to Gus'
Honestly though, $2mil isn't going to save Gus' job if he deserves to get fired so it doesn't matter.

This makes absolutely no sense.

Another coach Auburn will still be playing 10 years after he's gone. I wonder if they ever finished paying Buster Brown off? Tuberville probably gets a check till he dies.

This freaking athletic program is run by a bunch of idiots.

Just means he will be gone next year. How many coaches have signed a extension and been fired after the next season?
Too many to count.

Was just browsing Auburns football schedule. Realistically I don't see them winning more than 7 games this year. Auburn fans...what are your expectations this year?

How does Jay Jacobs continue to hold the AD job?

Good. I'm glad we're showing some confidence in him. Not many coaches are going to put out great results with the pressure of feeling like they're coaching for their lives.
Dudes been a HC at the college level for a total of 4 seasons. He's still growing as a HC so why not let him grow here instead of firing him after a couple disappointing seasons. Schools and fans are too quick to dismiss coaches these days. Coaches like Bryant and Bowden would have never made it in today's coaching world because it took them years to build their programs. In 4 years as a HC he's produces a conference championship 50% of the time so obviously he knows a bit about coaching. Let's see what he can do given some time. It's refreshing to see some patience and confidence in a coach for a change
