I just don't see why Saban is so worried. You win some, you lose some. Like I said, Bama had the lead with 30 seconds left. Play that game 10 times, and Bama probably wins at least 5 out of 10. No need to change the rules to gain a marginal advantage.

You weren't kidding. I saw it was over 12 minutes and thought it was too long to listen to all of it. I was laughing so dang hard at numerous of his comments. I'd love to see him debate Saban over this issue.

So we can put Ellis in the Saban/Bielema camp...

That leach interview was awesome. He ripped saban a new arse. Pure manipulation and self interest and maybe if saban has so much time on his hands, he should spend it coaching his players and figuring out how to make his team better.

I'm not for the rule, but leach is a douche and everyone knows it.
The worst was Gundy's comment about changing the rules at the height of the games popularity. That fricker wasn't worried about that when he was one of the biggest complainers wanting the BCS changed because the SEC had a supposedly unfair advantage. All coaches are self serving hypocrites
John Thompson was on the radio Friday and had a good alternative to the rule. He suggested, rather than the 10 second rule, making it mandatory for all 11 offensive players to always come between the numbers after a play. That way the DCs could tell if substitutions were being made and it wouldn't slow the game down. His issue was HUNH teams having players lingering close to the sidelines so that the DCs couldn't tell if they were going to substitute.

But I thought this was all about player safety.

Wow, the delusion is strong in this one.
How many commemorative BCS rings do you have? Do you use them to pick up girls? Or do all your cousins already know about it?

You got all of that from that post? Hmm, okay.

It is about player safety and in no way related to people being out coached

You should ask your DC. He has used both arguments until he was told what he was allowed to think by Gus.

And guess what
He adjusted, he rotates 10 DL, he's not a bitch

Bama had the lead with 30 seconds left.

No. Marshall threw the tying TD with 32 seconds left. Davis won the game with the TD with 1 second left. Bama had the lead with less than a minute to go.
Again. You win some, you lose some. No need to change a rule for something as trivial as this. The HUNH gave Auburn an advantage, but it was marginal at best. If you factor in the missed field goals, Bama has no one to blame but themselves.

...Speaking of having no one else to blame: Didn't Bama run the ball 3 times to get into field goal range with 32 seconds left? Who does that? That's schizophrenic play calling. You either run to run out the game clock or pass to gain significant yardage to make it a chip shot FG.
Correction: it was an incomplete pass followed by 2 runs. Still, it suggests that Bama intended on going into overtime. Yet, they still tried to attempt a school record FG attempt when they didn't have to.
