I think one of them wins the national title and I’ll be fairly surprised if one of them doesn’t at least make the Final Four. Entirely possible both do.

Oats got some respect from me by benching Sears. Long over due. Sears is good when on a hot streak, but over all is over-rated.

I think auburn is a little more well rounded, consistent, and versatile but i still think bama might have the highest ceiling

I live Alabama basketball and I hope we win it all this year, but it blows my mind that we don’t run a single play up the court. Whoever brings it up, is the one who dribble drives and shoot or we use rebounds for our backs. We win on being hot at 3 or just pure talent and athleticism.
Thats one reason UConn beat us last year in the final 4. They passed on average 9 times just to find the open player and it wasn’t a half court three point shot.
If we’re hot from 3, we are hard to stop. If we’re not, we will get blown out by Auburn.

Not real sure what you are watching. Alabama has the number 1 offense in the country. You telling me they are doing that without even passing the ball? Imagine how much they could score if they passed the ball.

That isn't how we play at all and you clearly have no idea what you are watching

I don’t understand this thought (and I hear it all the time). What kind of ceiling are we talking about after 20 games into the season. At some point, you are what you are (and they are very good).
The exception would be a team like the fab 5 or a Kentucky team with 5 freshman.
Alabama is an experienced team (just like Auburn). They are built for a run and expected to do just that. But there is no “super higher” plane to reach.

Some Field of 68 dude pretty much said the same thing Randy said. It's because Bama has more "talent". We have guys like Chaney which played at UAH, San Jose State, or Moorehead State and they have 5*s across the board.

We're rolling with North Dakota State, USF, Rutgers and Ohio (and Fullerton before the injury), so not really that different. Both have young 5-star spark plug guys off the bench. The only 5-star we're playing that theoretically has a much higher ceiling that his current play is Jarin, but he's been shite for 3 months now.

I could have kept going. lol
Furman, FIU, SMU, Georgia Tech
We only have one real 5* and that is Tahaad Petit and he is a true freshman.

Considering Aden’s ability to go stone cold I’m not overly concerned with him… he couldn’t buy a shot from deep or drive the paint at all last season…

quote:I think after what we've witnessed from both teams this season AU/UA fans acknowledge these are two very good teams. This is unprecedented & both fanbases should appreciate and enjoy it.
One of us has to lose on February 15th and I look forward to tRant telling the losing team that they were pretenders and how bad they suck.
There's really no place for shite talking or trashing either program, maybe both fanbases will display civility & respect for one another win or lose.

Unlike Avery's program there is greater respect between the programs but rest assured, the winner at either location deserves to and will gloat.

quote:He’s a good player that experienced a slump that he’s never experienced before. I think he would have resolved his slump regardless of where he played this season, but sometimes it’s better psychologically to be able to shift blame to external excuses to get out of a rut and his change of scenery may have helped in that regard.

Anyway, the only ill i wish for him is to lose every time he plays Auburn.

He has let Sears play far too out of control.

Holloway needed a little time to grow, and I believe he'd have done that at AU had he stayed. I've enjoyed watching him mature, he's taken ownership in his role on the team and he's feeling confidence.
