The fact that some newbie 16 year old kid rear ended them
This is the only fact that we know right now.

was probably texting and driving while speeding really bothers me.

I don't think we know either of these things yet.

When I was 19 I was right beside a car that was at a complete stop waiting to turn left and got rear ended by a car doing about 60mph. I will never forget and I am 49. She was a beautiful girl about my age and my friend and I were on her right waiting for the light to turn green. We kept looking over at her because she was so pretty and she smiled and waved just as the light turned green. We moved forward under the light and then I heard the loudest sound I have ever heard behind me and then the girls car come flying past us on the left with debris going everywhere. The entire backend of her car was crushed up into the front. I ran to the car and saw the girl and knew she was gone. I can definitely see where a high speed rear end to someone at a dead start results in this tragedy.

Very sad for their family and the Auburn extended family.

Being an LSU fan can’t say I got to hear his calls. Any Auburn fans have any classic calls of his they could post? Or favorite calls of his?

LINK

Here's a video from last summer of Rod discussing his favorite 5 plays he ever called at Auburn. Not his best calls, but his favorite 5. #1 is obvious, the Kick 6. It also has the "Go Crazy, Cadillac" call, the game winning FG from the 2011 BCSNCG, a David Ross homerun in 97 to beat #1 FSU in the Tallahassee regional on our way to the CWS that year (I actually didn't know til last night he had been calling baseball games for us for 27 years bc he had only been doing football since 2003 after Jim Fyffe passed), and sorry to tell you but the first play in the video, #5, is from a basketball win over LSU in the SECT Bruce Pearl's first season when KT Harrell hit a buzzer beater 3 to take the game to OT (I'd like to think if this video had been made in the last month and a half there would've been a call from our SECT championship run or Final Four run bc he had some great calls then)

Bramblett used to announce for my High School (he was the football team's voice) prior to taking the Auburn job. Such a tragedy for his entire family, the Auburn community and the community at large. He will be missed.

It’s strange how different these type accidents can be. Two years ago my son was stopped waiting to make a left hand turn. A guy in a full size work van hit him from the rear. The data controller on the van showed the guy was going 72 mph when he made contact and never hit his brakes. My sons truck did a 180° and thankfully he only suffered a broken nose.
I think about it all the time how lucky he was.
It is amazing to me the amount of damage that Rod’s vehicle showed in those pictures. It Looks like it might have even rolled.
Do they know he was sitting still? He may have been hit from behind while he was still traveling and lost control and rolled the car.

That sounds horrible enough just reading about, can’t imagine how you felt dealing with it in person and at such a young age.
