One can hope, if we get by Auburn, I would rather Louisville than Vandy.

Putting 3 of us in one bracket is silly, but I would not ave been suprized if they didn’t try to get all 4 of us in the same bracket. Hail State and let the SEC own Omaha.

The seeding was set up at the beginning of the tournament. There were 10 SEC teams in the tournament, so our brackets had to be paired up at some point. It just worked out that we had 3 on 1 side of the CWS bracket.

Kinda wish they wouldn't pair up seeded teams from 1 conference, so that UMiss didn't have to play Arkansas, but otherwise you can't really avoid conference pairings.

Poor decision here. Oh well, Lemonis has gotten us this far

Are you trying to lose game 1? Because not pitching your best pitcher is a good way to lose game 1.

We actually have fans who would sit the SEC Pitcher of the Year in Game 1 of the CWS

I believe that's what hats the FSU folks are wearing now.

They are only thinking about game 2. If you ask them to think deeper into the tourney, I am sure they would come up with a different answer.

Gotta win game 2 to get to game 3,4 etc. You don't have to win game 1 to continue playing in Omaha.

You don't have to win game 2 either as long as you win game 1. A loss in either puts you in the same position.

This is true, but it's also true that our best opponent will be in game 2 regardless of a win or loss in game 1.

Knowing Ginn can go then pitching Small first makes most sense.

That means Small will be available later in the week if we have to play an elimanation game.

The way Plumlee pitched against Stanford is plenty good enough to beat Vandy anyways

I see State v Vandy in Game 2. The Dogs ability to get to Kumar will be more important than the starting pitcher, imo. What if we save Small for Game 2 and then get shut out by Rocker? A wasted SEC PoY in the CWS.

I see your point. I just thinks that's a gamble that State doesn't have to take

Rocker vs Ginn would be a pitching matchup sent from heaven in the CWS. Let’s make it happen. Beat auburn.

You have more faith in some of our fans than I do

In the CWS everyone is either: really good or really hot (or both). Using the best pitcher first gives you a better chance to get them involved in more games. It's worth discussing, but not a long discussion, unless there's a bizarre matchup issue.

My man, you do not know baseball.

Take the 'L' on this one and sit out a play.
