There are few things I would ever bet my life on, and Cam and Cecil Newton taking money would not be one of them.

That's quite possibly the most homeristic thing I've ever seen posted here.

I remembered seeing party, but now that I reread it, it was second party . So I take back that part, however the rest of my comment stands.

Link?

The only thing that is on record officially is that there were negotiations between Cecil and Rogers. There is no testimony from Cecil that it was all his idea. He certainly never said he tried but "they did not bite".

This is most people's basic understanding of the situation, but this is simply not the truth.

Not the truth you say??

His #1 says that dad tried to negotiate a p4p.

LINK

quote:

Cecil Newton, has admitted having conversations with an ex-Mississippi State University player about the possibility of under-the-table money if Cam Newton signed to play football at Mississippi State

That would be negotiations..

Next..

quote:

he's steadfastly maintained that no money ever changed hands and said no official at Mississippi State ever made such an offer.

There you have Cecil STEADFASTLY MAINTAINING that NO MSU official made SUCH an OFFER.

So yes... Cecil admitted to trying.. and to the fact that MSU never made an offer. Now.. Like I stated to another AU fan... go ahead and THINK REALLLLLLLLY hard about a loop whole on how that does not mean what he said!

Rogers did not say that... Link please.

quote:

The point is, it was stated as if it were an irrefutable, on the record, fact that it was all Cecil's "fishing" and that Rogers did not "bite", and that is simply not the case.

Nobody said Rogers did not bite. They said that MSU did not. Rogers is NOT MSU.

Straightening out the facts.. MSU did NOT go straight to the NCAA. Have not seen anybody say that at all. THEY WENT TO THE SEC..

That's cool, I was told to not say a word about anything I heard, this all went on when HBO was trying to do their story, they contacted Bond, I was at my buddy's house and we went over there. Bond played the tape and as I said, there was a voicemail and a second party conversation. (I know where you got party from now.)

Depends if the NCAA rules that he was acting as an athletic representative of MSU. And that is the catch, imho, for MSU. If the NCAA determines that he was acting as a booster, they could lay the hammer down. Honestly, I don't care, we have our own problems to worry about.

MSU Compliance

Representative of Athletics Interests: A "representative of the institution's athletics interests" is an individual who is known (or who should have been known) by a member of the institution"s executive or athletics administration to:

Have participated in or to be a member of an agency or organization promoting the institution's intercollegiate athletics program;
Have made financial contributions to the athletics department or to an athletics booster organization of that institution;
Be assisting or to have been requested (by the athletics department staff) to assist in the recruitment of prospects;
Be assisting or to have assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families; or
Have been involved otherwise in promoting the institution's athletics program.

** Once an individual is identified as such a representative, the person retains that identity indefinitely

Are you really this stupid, or just trolling?

I said plain and simple that "the only thing that is on record is that there were negotiations between Cecil and Rogers." Where does that link say that Cam's dad initiated these negotiations?

No MSU official made such an offer. Is Rogers an MSU official?

quote:

So yes... Cecil admitted to trying.. and to the fact that MSU never made an offer. Now.. Like I stated to another AU fan... go ahead and THINK REALLLLLLLLY hard about a loop whole on how that does not mean what he said!
No, he didn't. he admitted to negotiations taking place, not that he tried, and they refused.

Rogers did not say that... Link please.

Dumbass.

The conversation went like this.
quote:

There is no testimony from Cecil that it was all his idea. He certainly never said he tried but "they did not bite".

quote:

Um, why would he willingly admit that he tried to sell his son to the highest bidder?

When challenged to find a quote from Cecil Newton where he admits to initiating p4p discussions, his response was "of course he wouldn't put that quote out incriminating himself." I'm saying the same could be asked for Rogers, and that that's a stupid argument.

quote:

Nobody said Rogers did not bite. They said that MSU did not. Rogers is NOT MSU.
And Cecil is not Auburn.
