Good analysis, Wrangler, but I think you're giving JFIII too much credit. He reportedly struggled in the Spring, even leading some to wonder if White/Johnson would be the starter again.
Auburn* Spring game Stats:
**QB's: 11 of 26 for 110 yards when the QB's weren't allowed to get hit.
**Both the Blue and White offense's combined to go 2 of 22 on 3rd down conversions
**Both offense's combined to go 1 of 5 in the Red Zone
Auburn's D will be improved, but since they finished 72nd nationally last year that shouldn't be hard to do. Lawson is a known factor, Cowart last year struggled and Marlon Davidson, reportedly a starter coming out of Spring, is a true Freshman.
Steele replacing Muschamp is a major downgrade at DC, just ask anyone from LSU, Clemson, or Alabama.
#5 toughest schedule in the country, I'm calling for another 6-6 season and return to the Birmingham Bowl.

Herb Hand has made a lot of changes along the OL. He is two deep along the line, so some players will be moving around.

I'd be more inclined to believe this if they had some no-name DC who could turn out better than expected and if they were returning a decent QB

However none of that is true. They're going to be terrible.

We've heard this before, especially in 2013.

The tackles are probably the biggest concern right now. With average QB play they should be an 8-9 win team. I believe this D will be on par with our 2010 defense maybe better. If the JFIII kid figures it out then Auburn might be a wildcard.

The team that won 7 games with below average QB play, way below average WR play and average D played competitively with almost every team on their schedule including Jack St.

I didn't read this entire thread and really do not have too. Auburn is a program that that would make a great psychology study. When they are predicted high, they flop and when predicted low they excel. Sure many other teams exceed or do not meet expectations, but Auburn seems to do it yearly.

Err.. I think you are saying you have talent... which means you will suck diseased moose wang this season. Well that is good for the rest of the conference.

If Auburn recruited only the walkons from Div III schools you would be unstoppable.

Depends on the first month. If they start slow they could be 1-3 going into October.

Well yeah, if that happened then it's gonna be a 6-6 season on the Plains. However, I belive they're gonna really surprise this year.

They get their first 5 games at home or at a neutral site. They only have 1 true road game @MSST, until their 8th game. I expect them to be 6-1 or 5-2 at worst,With a win over a top 10 Lsu, going in to the Ole MISS game.

Dang, and all this time I had the tiggers finishing last in the west and possibly starting out 0-4. I learned something new today.

Now don't go getting crazy, plus you're a rebel fan, you know nothing about winning the west.

Just like everyone in the SEC, the season is dependent on QB play. The difference in the league is some teams can have poor QB play and still have a winning season due to the surrounding talent. Others can have great QB play and barely have a winning season due to the surrounding talent.

Who were the top QBs last year and what was their teams overall record ?

No expectations this year so they'll probably win the SEC and be in the CFP.

We have more 5 and 4 star kids on our sidelines now than ever. If the coaches cant do anything with them, its on them.

My prediction? We will go 8-5 this year
