AU fans, issues finding a DC?

To my AU frands, Rocky, TTs, etc...
What seems to be the problem getting a DC? I would make a call to Orgeron and get it done. I think AU is going to struggle to get a quality DC because Malzahn is probably a lame duck going into next year.

Went all out for Kelly. Looked promising then fell through. Having to basically start over.

He has the perception of being a lame duck among coaches combined with the fact that he came from high school and doesn't have the connections most coaches do.

Not only is Orgeron a good/great coach, he's a great recruiter. That seems to be what they need. Plus, if Gus really is on the hot seat, Orgeron was pretty good at USC til they did him dirty.

If you were a promising, up an coming DC would you really want to go to Auburn?
You have a head coach who deep down doesn't give a shite about defense at all and runs a style of offense that handicaps the defense.

Nobody wants to coach with Gus. Our boosters don't want to put a lot of money into the staff for a potential lame duck coach.

There are 120 DCS at the FBS level and probably another 500 position coach at this level. And Gus had to call Bucky Freeze to get a lead on a potential hire.
Good news is that next coach will get at least 5 years to rebuild because Gus has been awful at recruiting and the support staff is a joke.
