Nah, it isn't just about beating Alabama.
It is about beating Alabama and Georgia (much like it is at Alabama with Auburn and Tennessee).

LSU is keeping him employed. He only beats us on hot seat years lol

2021 will be a big year for Gus. There are a ton of JRs on the 2020 team and Nix will be in year 3 as a starter. You have Bigsby who is looking like a KJ-type who can produce without a great OL and if Seth Williams comes back, look out.
If he's not 9-2 or 10-1 headed into the Bama game with a shot at the CFP, we may decide it's time.

And, just as importantly, his buyout will have dropped another $7M or so

You fans mean little to those with the pocketbook that pays the bills. YellaFella's complex is going to allow Gus or any other Barn HC to lose 3-4 years in a row to Bama no matter what happens with UGA or LSU.

quote:Gus runs a clean program, his players stay out of the headlines, he keeps clear of the NCAA, and he’ll never embarrass Auburn off the field. He’ll win at least 7 games a year and he’ll make a bowl game every year.

That’s what Auburn gets for a top 5 paid coaching staff.

To the old crew, maybe. Us Auburn fans that grew up in the 90s, 00s, and 10s desire way more than that.
