Jake Matthews is in a similar situation with a family history of going to the NFL and injury ruining that career. Better to have a degree to fall back on. Luke Joeckel will be the wildcard.

What part of this do you actually believe?

Teams often write into contracts that they will pay for guys to complete their degree whenever football ends for them.

Better to risk an injury to ruin a career with, at minimum, a couple MILLION up front and in your pocket giving you a tremendous jumpstart on life with the ability to return to school...or to stick around for one additional year for a degree in hopes of your earning potential for your ENTIRE working life increasing by ~ as much as you have on DAY ONE for signing the dotted line?

I'm sorry, but it is a common sense decision with first round money. Anyone being "advised" to turn that down needs new advisors. Of course Miller's family would advise him to return...Vonn stayed for his senior year, when his draft stock also skyrocketed, and it all worked out.

Story is somewhat different if you can significantly help your draft stock in the senior season...

I think as an A&M fan we want at least one of the top first rounders to leave. It makes our program look more solid and would bring in more recruits.

Brandon Williams: Transfer 5 star RB from OU will be eligible next year. Best player in spring practice.

Von Miller would have been drafted in the first round after his junior year. He decided to stay and worked his way up to the #2 pick. His decision to stay earned him millions in guaranteed money.

DeMonster, Luke, and Jake might all leave, but it is very possible that some (or maybe even all) decide to stay. Time will tell.

The only seniors we lose on the offensive two deep are Center Patrick Lewis, WRs Ryan Swope, Uzoma Nwachukwu, and Kenric McNeal, and TE Lamothe.

On the defensive two-deep we lose Mathis and Nealy in the DT rotation, Stewart and Porter at LBer, corner Dustin Harris and safety Terrell.

We return a bunch of guys, and we have some young guys that we are very excited about. Time will tell, but I do not expect us to be worse next year.

You guys assuming that our tackles will be gone, have no idea what the situation is...

Both those guys come from affluent backgrounds and arent in the tight money situation like some guys would be. Yeah we may lose one or both to the draft but Money isnt the only thing that matters to some guys, especially if they arent hurting for it anyway. Both guys also have younger brothers playing on the team.

Demontre Moore is also extremely close to Von Miller and his parents (as in talks to them weekly for advice etc.) and might well follow in Miller's footsteps and return for his senior year to help the team.

You haven't seen practices or scrimmages or our mop-up time. Showers delivers the ball much more crisply, has better vision, is stronger, and actually operates this offense the way it is supposed to be run. Johnny has that X-factor, but you'd be scary surprised by what the offense looks like with Showers at the helm.

Well regardless of wether the O-line looses those guys or not SEC defensive coordinators will have a entire year to watch T AM offense. I think you guys will be very good next year but the offense wont be as productive as this year. Even this year the defenses did much better in the 2nd half.

It was evident to most non-Aggies that against the better defenses that after the first half defenses seem to a just to the speed of the Aggie offense. Next year will be similar to seeing a pitcher for the second time. I think teams will be more prepared the second time around. JFF is great qb and the Aggies are a team on the rise but there will be other good teams. Thank goodness for the new bowl system because with the Aggies added to the west it might be hard for any SEC team to go undefeated. I must say I never would have expected Bama to have the ball 1st and goal on the 5 and not get it in with the Championship on the line. Sumlin>Sabin on 11/10/2012 the future we will see,

Didn't Satan have like 10 games of film to watch to prepare? Its not like there's that many wrinkles in our offense.

A&Ms defense is a little bit better than advertised.
