aTm came into the SEC with dreams of becoming LSU.

They were no longer under the wing of their daddy’s (UTa) protection. They spread their wings and were fully grown and out of the house.
They came in confident that they could compete against LSU in football demanding a new rivalry and end of the year game with the bayou tigers.
Well, it didn’t take long for their reality to sink in. Their all time great Heisman winner, John Manziel, never beat LSU. The Ags had an 0-6 record going into a controversial game that had to record the highest point total in FBS history.
But the Ags won. Feeling the excitement of their first SEC win against the Tigers, murals were painted, offices redesigned, and commemorative cups were made, the Aggies just knew their dreams of becoming LSU were right in their hands. All they needed was money. More money. That’s it!
After the firing of Jimbo and the hiring of a freshman head coach; the Ags had “their” guy. But deep down inside of their green with envy hearts they know they could never become The Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers.
They absolutely need this 2024 NCAA baseball championship.
If not only to be relevant. But to keep that relationship with their step father relevant, as well.
Good luck the rest of the way, Ags. We would like to welcome you to the table.

Well, at least they tempered their expectations. It's not like they came in expecting to be Alabama or, at the time, Florida (though these days it would be Georgia).
Kudos to A&M for keeping their expectations grounded in a more realistic endeavor!
