Would love to see Arky do a different revenue split than other SEC programs post-House. Seems like most are shooting for 75-80% going to football, would love to see them do 70% football and something like 20% basketball to just floor it for that sport.

Btw, nabors sucks. He’s in it for himself. I’m not saying this because I disagree with him, but he thinks too much of himself when he knows no more than any of us. Anyone who would post his opinion needs their heads examined.

Without knowing who he is as a writer/columnist/reporter, that's what I thought. Arkansas has always been more of a Tier 2 football program, though they've had some stretches when they were very, very good/great. Not dissing Arkansas - Petrino would function well in today's qb-centric world, I think, if he didn't like motorcycles so much. They might decide it's better in the short term and question some of their priorities. It's such a fluid situation in football right now, everybody's got to prioritize more. Very small number of schools that can be financially competitive across the "big three" sports.

There’s the deal with Arkansas. We could dump all our resources into football and maybe win 10 games, not play for for a sec championship and miss the playoffs and play in a bowl. Well in 3 of 5 years Sam has been here we have gone to and won 3 bowl games, it could have been 4 but in the Covid year tcu withdrew from the bowl due to covid issues.

But we have huge basketball and baseball fans and fans of the women’s sports and track teams. They wouldn’t stand for those programs getting ignored.

It’s a big juggling act trying to keep everyone happy I’d imagine so here we sit.

We aren’t awful in football but just not quite deep enough to contend against the deeper teams especially towards the end of the season when injuries pile up. Oh well, I don’t lose any sleep over it.

Arkansas won the 78 Orange in football, 78 final four in basketball and the runner up in 79 CWS finals.

A decade later they won the 89 SWC title in football, 89 CWS in baseball and the 90 final four in basketball.

It's different now as basketball and baseball are much bigger brands than football which makes it easier in recruiting. Football suffers in the reputation as being a bad program to the views and opinions of the outside world.

Many hierarchies have destroyed football programs in the short term. It's called politics, and it's been around longer than night games. The barners are going through it now. Tennessee just went through 120 head coaches this century looking for Mr. Right. When you add NIL to an already strained process, it could get very ugly and painful for fans and alumni. But it's a process, and sooner or later, someone will stumble on the perfect hire and drag their fannies out of the wilderness. That's the biggest problem facing Fayetteville.

If true they're cooked and will be vying against miss state and vandy for the bottom spot every year. Gone are the days when you could throw together a scrappy team and gut out a few wins you weren't supposed to. Its NIL baby.... you're either pushing all your chips to the center of the table or you're falling behind.

This isn't off base though. Most schools cant spend on everything...more and more schools will have to pick in choose what they spend mega millions on. I predict LSU is always gonna put chips down on football and baseball....with that said I don't see us ever putting an above .500 mens basketball team on the court

Oklahoma State was the only game last year that they truly shouldn't have lost.

A slightly BETTER version of Mizzou is Arkansas’s calling.

It took over a decade for you all to realize this. But you’ve arrived. We are who you should be hoping to become.
