The NCAA also has a "clear and convincing" evidence standard.

This thread is pathetic.

is it any more pathetic than the countless threads about LSU and Will Wade? They're all the same whenever a school comes under potential NCAA scrutiny. One side makes a knee-jerk conclusion that the alleged school is 100% guilty and screwed. The other side (that team's fan base) says it's much ado about nothing and "can't prove anything." It's a cycle on here. Happened with Auburn. Happened with Ole Miss. Happened with LSU.
Etc.

They're (these types of threads) all pretty pathetic IMO because the vast majority of people refuse to discuss the issues rationally and logically.

Ill be rational

The Ncaa wont do anything to lsu or bama

But also rationally speaking, they have a far easier case against Bama now than LSU if they choose to go after one or the other

So wait, nowhere in the trial records is Wade or LSU mentioned, but Alabama football is??

Lol

Woodward couldn’t write this any better.

question for you. Do you know what a "clear and convincing evidence" burden actually means? It's not anywhere near "beyond a reasonable doubt"

Exactly. Honestly, the only thing that would worry me as a Bama fan is that an identified person testified under oath that they paid players and gave dollar amounts. The NCAA could contact this person now and get some specific amounts and receipts possibly. I don't think anything happens though from what we know so far. It's not anything that LSU isn't doing in football as well.

Coaches paying Gump players.

Bagmen paying Gump players.

Gumps unable to pay their electric bills.

No matter how many laughing emojis you would like to post, there is far greater proof Bama broke NCAA rules
I’m not arguing against that.

I don’t think the NCAA should do anything about Wade’s tapes.

I’m fairly sure he was talking about paying players, though. And I think it’s funny that this guy here doesn’t think that’s what the conversation is about.

Fed trial brings about payment allegations to Bama football player

Well damn. UAB just got their football program going again and now they'll have to go on probation for this shite! They just can't seem to get ahead.

There's a better chance of Coach O winning a national championship at LSU than there is of the NCAA doing anything to Bama while Saban is still there regardless of how much evidence there is.

Unless people are getting murdered.

The NCAA has shown that they will do whatever the frick they want to do. We had "clear and convincing evidence" against a few of our allegations and that didn't stop them from punishing us for it.

The FCA director driving a recruit is the greatest example.

The More You Know

quote:

Is there a statute of limitations for making allegations?

Yes. Allegations generally are based on violations that have occurred four or fewer years before the time an institution is notified of an investigation or an institution notifies the enforcement staff of violations. However, the enforcement staff may allege violations that have occurred beyond the four-year period if they involve (1) the eligibility of a current student-athlete, (2) a pattern of willful violations that began before the four-year window but continue into the four-year window or (3) a blatant disregard for certain fundamental rules (recruiting, extra benefits, academics, ethical conduct) or (4) an effort to conceal violations.
