Doesn't he admit to paying players on tape? His own words aren't proof of his own actions? Should we just not trust what he says? That seems like a shaky position to take.
Does he? What words were used to say he paid a player?

That certainly wasn’t recently when taking into account the types of punishments the NCAA has been dishing out compared to back then
Me, I just wanna see yall squirm and get a taste of humility.

Yeah, the transcript of Wade saying what he did is enough to raise flags.
But let's focus on the hard evidence part of this stuff a second...
Wade says "offer", he never defines that. It's on a wiretap that someone leaked, but that wiretap has been ruled irrelevant to the trial it pertains to, so it shall rightfully remain sealed. So we know 'something' is out there, but can't cite the actual wiretap because it can't be used. And LSU did their own investigation (to see if they can fire Wade without paying him for breach of contract, after suspending him), came back empty. Player in question came back clean, Wade was cleared, Alleva lost his job as a result.
We know have sworn testimony, something that CAN be used and followed up on. We have the phrase "thousands of dollars", so that's specifically monetary payment. We have nothing more specific than "players at X University". So in one way it's not as juicy, but it's a lot more concrete. The problem would be to find the money trail, if this witness doesn't lay it out, but he is motivated to cooperate with the Feds to get a lesser sentence.
Remember, this trial ISN'T about NCAA corruption, that's only the collateral damage coming from it. Revealing NCAA cheating isn't going to buy you a better sentence, they're after money men. The NCAA problems come from the fact that this money and racketeering stuff is INVOLVED in college athletics.

IMO, the entire ordeal is so widespread and now it's intertwined between multiple sports at BIG time college programs with big time coaches that the NCAA will be twisting like a kite in a hurricane. They simply don't have the manpower or resources to investigate this shite storm.

It’s remarkable how people haven’t been able to grasp the Will Wade situation.
