I thought he handled the negative attention well and acted on par with most 20-22 year olds, and a whole lot better than some.

People hate him for 2 reasons, he's good and the way that he carries himself. Tebow was on the same level football wise, but didn't come off as an asshat.

1- If Cam could be undeniably proven innocent of all accused wrong doing at a 4:00pm pressed tomorrow, how would you feel about him?

The same

2- If Cammy Cam had never once been implicated in any wrong doing and just played at the same level while maintaining a typical off the field reputation, how would you feel?

The same

You are a fricking retard. There is a legit discussion going on and now that you are here I am sure it will flame out.

quote:

Moo State also had a booster and an assistant coach actually involved in giving money to players post Cam and you only got a slap on the wrist at most out of that case

Now I know you're fricking high. For what the benefits were, it was most definitely not a slap on the fricking wrists.

And Moo State? Really? You do know that Auburn is a ag school as well right? Just shut the frick up dude. You are god awful.

Disagree somewhat. People hated the media shoving tebow down our throats every hour of every day. Manziel has the Cam thing going too, he's a great player, but comes off as a douche and the media wouldn't ever shut the frick up about him. Todd Gurley is the best RB in America, but doens't get force fed to us all the time, so nobody (aside from rivals, which is natural) would really have any reason to dislike him.

That's half of it, like I said. If he was 4th string and sucked nobody would care. Although, he wouldn't get near as much press either.

You talk about a legit discussion going on then proceed to flame the frick out of him. GTFO of here with that.

He's a phenomenal athlete but I still wouldn't like him because he's an arrogant prick and a thief.

I don't care that he's arrogant, but I do hate a thief.

Just curious, what made him come off as a douche, while at Auburn?

Sorry, but your whining didn't exactly make much of a contribution to a legitimate discussion. If pointing out your hypocrisy makes me a retard, then I am proud to be a retard

If the kid involved in the Moo State case received even one dollar, it was one dollar more than was proven that Cam received. And there was still no major sanctions like a bowl ban, tv ban, or major scholarship reduction

I don't think Newton was paid at AU but I do think he knew all along that his father was acting as his agent and even if he didn't the SEC ignored their own rules to keep him eligible. Regardless, he is an a-hole. AU fans don't want to admit it because he is their Godlike figure but its not just fans of other SEC schools that think this. Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com reports that AFC Pro Bowl players went after Newton especially hard in last season's game because of how the Carolina Panthers quarterback acted during the week.

just his whole attitude in general. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about seeing as how he played for your team. Just the way he carried himself at all times.

This still doesnt give anything. Was it because he ran over to the students and celebrated? still trying to figure it out other than he beat people's teams almost single handedly

I think he walked a fine line between confident and arrogant. You can guess what side i come down on, but it doesn't surprise me that opposing fans felt he was arrogant. Guy was an amazing player and certainly wasn't of the barry sanders ilk of handing the ball to the ref after he'd scored multiple td's on their teams.

This is actually the correct answer, except that I don't think the SEC ignored anything, knowledge would just be impossible to prove.

Auburn didn't pay Cam. I'm sure we've done all sorts of other stuff, but I would wager a ton that Cam wasn't paid in the manner people allege (he may have gotten other benefits, like many good athletes).

I know I know, Newton could literally come to your house and kick your dog and shite on your lawn and you would say the dog deserved it and then thank Cam for fertilizing your grass.
