Ready to hear what Charles Barkley says to this
I'm guessing he'd just say the kids deserve to be paid. The whole amateur line has always been BS.

Call me crazy but I just assume if Kentucky was going to be named we'd be the header, not Oklahoma State and Louisville.

I think this is just the start. They may be involved in the next round of arrests.

I understand people thinking Pearl is undoubtedly going to be touched by this, and obviously he's under heightened scrutiny.

I'm not sure about Pearl, but we are talking about an assistant coach of the AU basketball team. If it was a rogue booster, I could see AU getting out unscathed. I just think the NCAA is going to take a bigger interest in an assistant coach giving money to players.

How does Pearl NOT know about this? C'mon, man

It's not about whether he knows, it's about whether they know he knows, ya know?

I missed where the agent/financial adviser was working WITH the FBI. They must've had a ton on him
He plead to securities fraud, aggravated identity theft, wire fraud, and making false statements. Began cooperating with the FBI in November of 2014.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't.

The hoping and praying for it to happen is hilarious though.

Excuse me Senators, I sincerely apoloigize. Ya'll need help getting down from your cross?

My point is as valid as yours. The denial is louder than a Zeppelin concert. Shoes and apparel contracts, the AAU, and handlers/go betweens, are ruining a great sport.

You are quite probably too young to remember a day that actually had decency in college competition. Pro sports are ruining college sports, and these types are being sought out and glorified rather than being jailed. Sounds like the Justice Department and the FBI have began to clean some of it up

Now finish your fricking Zima bitches.

Are you referring to the major federal point shaving scandal in the 50s that involved several schools? Or Sam Gilbert and UCLA in the 70s? Or the 80s pay for play scandals that also involved multiple schools? Or Minnesota and their academic scandal in the 90s that involved show causing Clem Haskins? Or.....

Not " ruining" . In the case of basketball , we would say " ruined". It's a shell of itself . And for the record - the Progressivism that is killing the NFL will take out CFB very soon too.

Just read more of the complaint and it doesn't appear likely to me pearl was involved at all. At least not the way the complaint reads now. Could be more the FBI has.

Player 1 is Auatin Wiley and Person lied to his mother about who the Agent was and she accepted money from the Agent.

Not sure who player 2 is (probably heron) but Person lied to his mother about the payments not being illegal.

Person was brought into this scheme by a bespoke suit seller in Atlanta who also reffed college and hs games.

Yea - to me - this sounds like something Person was doing on his own to make money for himself. I don't think, based on the way the documents read, that Pearl had anything to do with it. Now, did he possibly know and look the other way? Maybe, I guess, who knows. But it sounds like Person was staying super secretive, and given that he thought the person he was talking to was alone and on his side, you'd think he'd bring up anyone else in on it.

So, is this mostly an Adidas issue, or multiple brands? State uses Adidas. I'm just wanting to know if I should be concerned at this point.
