He's fine for now. The question comes in games, if he hasn't been declared eligible by the NCAA by the start of the season, any games he plays in are subject to being vacated.
If I'm aTm, I roll with it. It's not like you're winning anything of importance without Manziel. I'd play the odds the NCAA doesn't have anything that will stick and play him. Sure you may have to vacate some games, but if you could have played him but didn't....

I know. I think that was why Auburn did what they did with Cam and it worked out well. Also, it's worth noting that once someone is declared eligible, it doesn't imply lack of guilt. It just means that if there is a punishment, those games after the go-ahead aren't impacted.

He's going to be fine anyway you look at it. He has an out. An Escape Goat! His name is Fitch.
The loophole was not closed. They expanded the definition of an agent to include parents for the enrollment. As in asking for money to sign.
Have they dealt with personal assistants who are rouge?

So? You have to vacate a few wins. BFD.
Second, I actually think nothing comes of this at this point.

Serious rules question - is there any risk (NCAA wise) to letting him practice?

well they weren't going to win shite either way so you are right not a big deal. If a&m gets in trouble though then sumlin might bolt and the flagship is going to sail past them even quicker

refresh me on AJ, wasn't the four games actually supposed to be less but it was delayed or something?

I was just going by Alabama's textbook scandal. All of the games were vacated up to the Tennessee game, which is when the NCAA cleared them.

So the NCAA can tell a school a kid is eligible, then decide he's not, and punish the school for playing him?
That's just fricking stupid.

“ … an agent is any individual who, directly or indirectly, represents or attempts to represent an individual for the purpose of marketing his or her athletics ability or reputation for financial gain …”
This is their definition of an agent. Looks like Uncle Nate fits.
