"Cognitive Dissonance is the discomfort experienced when simultaneously holding two or more conflicting cognitions: ideas, beliefs, values or emotional reactions."
"People have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance by altering existing cognitions, adding new ones to create a consistent belief system, or alternatively by reducing the importance of any one of the dissonant elements.[1] Cognitive dissonance is the distressing mental state that people feel when they "find themselves doing things that don't fit with what they know, or having opinions that do not fit with other opinions they hold."
Rationalization (making excuses) is often involved in reducing anxiety about conflicting cognitions.

Lots of folks seem to be saying all kinds of stuff about Manziel and autos but it still comes down to evidence. Unless there is a money trail it's just words.
It does seem odd though that if Johnny was running this "business" and he is such a high profile athlete, why is there more autos out there available for Clowney and other athletes? It certainly wasn't from lack of demand.
Once again, Johnny may be guilty as hell but it is what can be proven that matters. Speculation and hearsay aren't enough to end Johnny's college career. Realize as well that autograph brokers aren't exactly the most ethical folks and virtually all of the "sources" are brokers, many of which lost their ability to sell on Ebay for 2 weeks when Johnny got his "Johnny Football" name trademarked.
Also, if you have listened to any sports radio or commentary out there most folks want Johnny to play this year and many more don't even agree with the policy that everyone can make money off of a player's name except the player. Do some want Johnny to burn? Sure, but it is hardly universal. Hating Johnny and not wanting Johnny to play are two very different things.

Johnny's reputation is already damaged, beyond repair IMHO

Ok sure. By the way, can you tell your fellow Aggie brothern to stop with the Aggie ethics bullshite they spew constantly and just acknowledge they are willing to sell their soul and ethics for a 20 year old douche that never really wanted to go to college station; does what he can to avoid being there; and just in case you don't get the point explicitly posts it.
Yet as recently as last week, I had some Aggie at work bragging about some bullshite code of conduct.... too much comedy.

Man this guy is going out on some limbs...speculating that the attorneys, school and NCAA are working on a resolution.

Dumbest argument I've ever heard.
I wouldn't say its the dumbest argument ever. I would say its another feather in the hat of Manziels defense.
If you had me on video saying I would accept $10,000 for killing your wife, saw a bank deposit of $10,000 in my account...and then 3 months later your wife turned up dead...that would be some bad evidence me in court.
I'd probably be heading to jail.
But in Manziel's case, there is no trail of $10,000 and your wife is still alive.

Your desire for the downfall of JFF is clouding your judgement. All we have so far is hack reporters making unsubstantiated comments.
You are eating from the trough with the rest of the morons.

I didn't know Colin Cowherd posted on the rant...and what has he lied about, cheated on, or stolen?

Actually we have reporters citing sources, some even named, saying they paid the guy for autograph signings.
Is it certain yet that he did this? No, but given the multiple first hand accounts, including at least one named, there is certainly more than hack comments.

Let the man play, I say. College football will be so much more boring without JFF's antics.
I don't understand why other school fans want to watch him crash and burn. Kid is a fun player to watch.

Do you believe he left the manning camp because of dehydration?
Carrying and using false ID's doesn't affect this?
His first arrest for stealing?
And oh yes, signing autographs for cash then lying about it.

i don't get this mentality- most people aren't out to bring him down. there are lots of us that just want the ncaa to act and enforce it's rules if in fact they have been broken. what's wrong with following the rules?

Either there is a money trail, which JFF should just tell Texas A&M about or there is not, in which case, A&M should have already done what USCw, South Carolina, and Louisville have done and clear their players....

Are you really saying that the lack of rims on his car = no money being exchanged?

Clearly there is more there.
For example the video that Schad saw and directly quotes from. The idea that he is simply imagining Johnny saying I wont take EXTRA cash to sign specialized messages because last time it raised questions and hearing Johnny say "i wasn't here doing this...." is simply preposterous.
And yes I remember Cam, but no real journalist actually said they heard the infamous tapes.

A&M fans don't see the difference between going to the NBA Finals and signing hundreds of memorabilia for autograph brokers. They soon will. It's just the mental breakdown part that is interesting. Why not just sit back and cross your fingers and see if he gets away with it? It would prepare yourself much better for when the NCAA suspends him, y'know, for making money from autographs, which even A&M fans seem to be admitting he did. You think that POS Nate left no fingerprints?

No, I'm saying that an autograph broker is on record claiming Manziel wanted money for new rims, and that if Manziel's records would have shown a purchase of new rims, that would have supported the claims of the broker.
Again, we still have no evidence other than claims and hearsay from some of the slimiest people on earth.

Not saying you're entirely wrong, but your starting RB is a two time felony offender. At least cast smaller stones.

I'm way passed that. Him being gone might be the best way. We absolutely have to back him until that time comes though.

The aggie premise is that because a group of autograph brokers had to put a pause on their business for a couple of weeks, they decided to try to ruin johnny football in some sort of elaborate scheme where they use the documentation of their legitimate autograph signings to frame him? Some ate even willing to attach their names to the report, which I'm sure is great for business.
Makes a real pantsload of sense.
