Many of those players in the Dawkins documents weren't being paid for signing with a school. Collin Sexton, for example, was compensated for choosing a certain financial advisor. He served a one game suspension and the NCAA had no further questions.
That's nonconsequential to this thread, where the head coach of one of the league's current top basketball programs is on tape discussing directly paying for recruits.

List of schools on Dawkins’ report
Based on Friday's report, and documents obtained therein, schools that could potentially face NCAA repercussions include: Alabama, Clemson, Creighton, Duke, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, USC, Utah, Villanova, Virginia, Washington, Wichita State, Texas, TCU and Xavier.
Looks like a lot of schools going down, including blue bloods. It’s all or nothing; they don’t get to pick and choose.

Collin Sexton, for example, was compensated for choosing a certain financial advisor.
Alabama basketball administrator Kobie Baker's resignation on Wednesday is tied to the FBI investigation related to corruption and bribery in college basketball that also involves Auburn assistant Chuck Person, a source confirmed to AL.com.
Baker admitted during a meeting with Alabama officials on Wednesday to being "Staff Member 1" in the FBI complaint, according to a source.
According to the FBI complaint, Rashan Michel, who was arrested Tuesday, arranged a meeting with a confidential witness (CW-1) and someone referred to as "Staff Member 1" on or around May 3 during which CW-1 paid $5,000 to Staff Member 1 and $2,000 to Michel

Already been discussed. Several players on that list have already been dealt with. Collin Sexton of Alabama, for example, received payment for choosing a specific financial advisor, not for signing with Alabama. He served a one game suspension, and Bama didn't get any heat from the NCAA, as the staff member involved resigned as well.

Didn't stop you from including this in the OP:
quote:
Early in 2018, LSU came under fire after bank records of agent Andy Miller were released and revealed payments to LSU players. Former LSU basketball player Tim Quarterman received $16,000 while he was a junior at LSU. In addition to Quarterman’s payment, former LSU basketball player Jarell Martin also allegedly received $52,000 from Miller’s firm. Feb. 25, 2018 - Yahoo: LSU's Will Wade draws scrutiny from NCAA for recruiting tactics
So, are the payments to those players relevant to the current discussion or not?

Cheating by LSU is just shocking....they would never.

The NCAA has always used selective enforcement. And yes they will pick and choose as they so please. Nothing will be different this time. The LSU fan delusion is off the charts with this. Your coach is on multiple taped conversations bidding on players.

whats worrisome is the entire country media wise roasting the program.
They have rallied around this specific case when there are tons of others out there, worried the NCAA will make an example out of us.
Terrible luck here.

LSU is fricked.
My silver lining is that now I don't have to listen to Mush Mouth Dickie V call another LSU game.

what I dont understand is the pitch fork circus coming after us.
What the frick did we do to Pat Forde and Thamel? I mean I know its click bait but to solely focus on LSU is really odd.
I dont get it, there are tons of other schools on the report.

Under the old rules, even if an allegation came out in the media or in public records (like FBI wiretaps) the NCAA had to do its own investigation. Now, the NCAA can use those public records and enforce a punishment without their own investigation.
