just remove all restrictions around payment. They can sell their autographed photos for $1M and there’s no point in playing that charade.

that's fine with me, but you will just have to find someone to pay them the $1,000,000.

Yeah. You’d have agents for college kids.

That happens at the pro level. We shouldn't allow players to get paid because some people might take advantage of them? I say we allow players to get money based on their likeness and educate them on ways to avoid that situation.

There’s no and. If players are going to get paid, don’t pretend it’s for anything. Just let them get paid and hire their cousin to be their agent and let’s get the show on the road.

LSU isn't out to get Wade. They're out to protect LSU.

Absolutely.

And they'll keep Wade around so long as they believe Wade is worth keeping and isn't causing more harm than good.

As they would with any other coach.

Wade's attorney needs to convince LSU there is no more "there" there and that what has been leaked so far is nothing to worry about.

Basically, what his attorney claims on his website:

quote:

Represented a PAC-12 head basketball coach (Sean Miller) in defense of widely reported allegations of improper recruiting inducements. After a rapid response and investigation of these unfounded allegations, and intense negotiations with the university, the coach was allowed to resume his position.

I'm very pleased Wade got new counsel. Seems like his old attorney(s) was more interested in measuring dicks with LSU attorneys at the expense of all parties involved. And LSU attorneys doing the same. None of that shite should have been made public but they blasted each other through the media for weeks, which I found to be highly unprofessional from both LSU and Wade's attorneys.

Clearly he's got the right guy now.

I don't think his other attorney was bad but he was an attorney for criminal law and not for dealing with the NCAA and major universities.

Louisville just received a verbal notice of inquiry for the Brian Bowen Adidas payments from two years ago. They should receive the written notice from the NCAA soon.

Can Tuscaloosa commit to two years of thread bumps?

Will Wade rumor - News possibly breaking ThursdayPosted by Laman1978 ? ? on 4/11/19 at 2:17 am

Apparently news coming forth about Wade and his meeting with LSU. His lawyer has been super busy. A press release date or time has not been confirmed, but I was told that Thursday afternoon is a strong possibility. I was told that it's "positive for LSU". Interpret that how you may.

Delly always delivers the goods.

quote:

The standoff is nearing an end. Suspended basketball coach Will Wade is scheduled to meet with LSU and NCAA officials on Friday, agreeing to speak after more than a month of silence. The school confirmed the news Thursday when Sports Illustrated requested a comment on the impending meeting. It ends a 34-day stalemate between the two sides and begins what could be a long-winding process to reinstatement. The meeting is only an initial step in an investigation into a wiretapped phone conversation between the coach and a recruiting middleman revealed last month in a Yahoo! Sports story. School officials placed the coach on indefinite suspension March 8 for declining to speak with them on the matter.

ETA: For all of you numb nuts who jumped to the conclusion that Wade had fired his other attorney:

quote:

Michael McGovern, working at the New York-based firm Ropes & Gray, remains Wade’s lead counsel in the case.

The meet time is the news I was expected today before Javonte went and dropped another bomb from way downtown.

Maybe Wade is going to declare for the NBA draft too?

LSU senior associate athletic director Robert Munson released a statement to SI: “I can confirm there is a meeting scheduled tomorrow with Coach Wade, LSU officials and the NCAA within the parameters LSU first requested in early March. University officials have made clear their expectation for full cooperation and transparency in this first step in a process toward resolution.”
