Given the recent history of NCAA actions for similar (and lesser) violations (example being my other alum school BYU), the most likely result of all this will be that at a minimum, all LSU wins involving Smart (and maybe Wade) will be vacated. Since this investigation will take some time, LSU will still probably get a tourney invite.
Therefore, (although this may sound unfair to Smart) LSU should suspend Smart until further notice, if LSU wants to keep any wins they may have from this point forward.
This, of course, assumes that the allegations are proven.

This is the problem non-blue bloods face. Play by the rules, be average or above average and go about your business, or do the exact same thing Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Kansas and others do, and get popped for it. The NCAA hated Tarkanian when every other coach deemed classy by the college basketball establishment was just as dirty.
