I’ll spell it out for you dimwit.

McMirphy puts his story on Facebook in the morning saying he has proof Meyer knew.

In an ESPN interview after most people have gone to bed later that same day he says well, you know, I really don’t have proof he knew.

So yeah, he lied to generate clicks and get the court of public opinion going in the direction he wanted to go.

And go frick yourself with the alumnus stuff. I am an alum and am proud of my school and the vast majority of the pride I have in the school has nothing to do with sports. This is a black eye on the university no matter the outcome. If Meyer did something that merits firing then he needs to go. I’m just willing to wait until it all fleshes out. That’s all. We know most of these coaches are egotistical scumbags so I won’t be surprised if he did know and withheld information but I’m willing to let it play out.
way to NOT EVEN ADDRESS that documentary from Veritas. That's already enough to fire him. I hope you frickeye's do keep him he can't recruit ever again except to worst human scum on Earth.

My god you are ignorant. Seriously get some psychological help.
Your hostility toward women is obvious.
Do you lead the "Blame the victim" parade in your neighborhood? Or do you just watch in your wife beater shirt?

Nailed it. Gotta love it when people on the internet make wild accusations based on a misread or misunderstanding of what is being said.

Hostility toward women according to user NolakcbrTiger: an expectation that a person cares about not only their own personal safety but the safety of their children in a hostile or toxic environment. And in the scenario that they are unable to make the difficult decision to leave that environment, that their immediate family members should step in and help to make that decision for them or get them help from people more qualified.

We are in 2018. Women and Men are supposed to be equals and treated as such. Equal pay. Equal rights. Equal *responsibility*. Sorry for actually living my life by that standard. Is it a nuanced topic that is difficult to discuss online in the face of idiots who are apt to make wild leaps? Absolutely...

If you'll note, I haven't said that Meyer and others have no role or responsibility in this... what I do find interesting is that the outrage is essentially placed squarely on Urban here because he's the biggest public face. Hell... if "all the coaches wives knew", why was Ryan Day promoted into temporary Head Coach... Are we to assume that his wife never told him? What about Schiano? Anyone on the staff? Where does that merry go round stop? ETA: Answered my own question... he hasn't been on the staff that long. Other candidates on staff were "too tainted" essentially according to Cleveland.com article.

It's called victim's syndrome, dickwad. She was, no doubt, afraid of what the repercussions of reporting it would result in from her piece of shite husband. If you can't understand that, you need help.

And I guess Urban's own wife was making up shite?? Concerned for no reason? frick you, a-hole.

We share in common sense & priorities as well.

Texas dodged a very similar bullet back in Mack’s days.. my first reaction was “who the frick does this clown think he is & why is Mack putting up with it & potentially getting us hammered?”. Not speaking of the Major Applewhite/trainer BJ episode either.

Like Urban, Mack got caught up in his own narcissism & the viscious cycle of a billon dollar industry.

The current fraternity of elite coaches don’t seem to have a good handle on the reality of the situation vs their hyper focus towards winning. I’d suspect that to gradually change when tOSU adds Urban to the expired list.

Obviously the fan bases are just as bad, they all react the same while ignoring reality & the fact that the culprits were looking out for themselves vs best long term position of the program/University or fanbase.

that documentary from Veritas

Haven't seen this yet. I did see some discussion on it though. Out of curiosity, what are the key takeaways? Most of what I saw discussed about it was that it was largely in line with what happens at most major football programs and that it was less "severe" than what would have happened for guys much further back (prior to a more "PC" culture).

I did see that several of the Gators who were included did not agree to be included in the context they were quoted. Basically an in depth interview was cut to take out only the parts that they wanted. Classic bait/switch interview to soften them up and then get them to open up on the area you want to dive deep on...

My takeaways were they were discussing normal football stuff and that Urban is a physiological devil. Both things I already knew.

So, basically, nothing.

Not surprising. He's a pretty shitty person by most accounts, and probably does deserve to be fired, but nothing that I saw referenced about that video really gave a lot of ammo on it. Glad not to have wasted my time.

There's people here that are still insisting he'll be fired?

You guys have to move on. It's already been swept under the rug.

Story title buried in the sporting section of today's Chicago Sun Times:

"Ohio St. trustees' group will head Meyer probe"

layman's terms-

"After an extensive investigation and review, we've found that Urban Meyer acted in accordance with the rules and stipulations of his job title and in accordance with his contract terms."

I truly believe they are looking for a reason to fire him with cause. That would save them something like $30M.

IF all the coaches' wives knew of these incidents, does anyone believe not one coach knew of it? If a single coach knew of it then is he not bound by Title IX just like Urban is covered by Title IX??

The University has a mess on their hands. If Urban is terminated would not they have to terminate every coach that did not report it?? If it was reported up the chain of command, like it should be, where does that leave the AD and the President? This mess could be as far-reaching as Penn St when it comes to the administration.

ANYONE at Ohio St that actually knew of this can't sleep peacefully right now. If you did not know about it and are in the athletic department, you just hope you can prove you did not know about it, if that is possible.
