Will you be back to appologize for your ignorance when Okie St the team that just lost iowa state beats oklahoma the team that just lost to Baylor and still doesnt jump Bama in the polls bc the voters know better.
you Bammers are f-ing dense.
I'm so glad I don't post on the SECRant regularly. I used to think the TigerRant was bad, but the idiots on this board are in much greater concentration.

This means a hell of a lot less than most of you "NO WAY IN HELL BAMA FALLS" posters think. The final poll gets the most shake-up. It's where the voters finally actually take a look at the full season instead of just where they were last week and the current results. It's the poll where the most switching of positions is likely to occur without teams losing to fall out of their current spot.
IMO, Bama is clearly the 2nd best team in the nation, hands down. That said, you will have voters in the Big 12 putting OSU #2, you will have SEC voters putting Bama #2, and I wouldn't be surprised for a split between the remaining voters. You may have people squeeze in VT at 3, citing "conference champion" strictly to spite a rematch. That's why I dislike the human element having 2/3rds power (even if I don't agree with the Big 12 strength in the computers this year). There's too much power for people that will more often than not have an agenda.
The key here will be how those chosen to have a vote view a rematch, as they can and possibly will drop Bama a spot because of it.
I'm not saying it will happen, but if the final poll comes out and OSU is #2 with Bama at #3 because of the computers and split votes in the human polls, I won't be shocked. Which is more than I can say for a hell of a lot of tide fans here that think it's inconceivable.

have you done the math?
I have.
Plus, I understand the mentality of the CFB media and they will largely be against a rematch.

This is the type of gump logic that is going to break your bank. Why in the HELL are reserves for Bama going for more than LSU?

That being said, what makes you so confident that you guys would come into New Orleans and beat LSU in front of a 65-70% LSU crowd? You couldn't even beat them in front of 100,000 of your own fans.
You actually think Alabama fans don't know how to get tickets to the Super Dome? As many times as we've been there I think the stands would be closer to a 50/50 split
I will take that 50/50 split all day in the Dome vs a 50/50 in BDS.

Have you factored that Ok St's SOS will take dip in computers next week?

That is a very large margin to overcome with just one game left to go.
After next week they will be 3. Then they have a game on championship weekend to try and crush oklahoma. If they can it will be very very close. The media is gonna use every excuse in the world to prevent an all sec championship game. Believe me once OSU went down and OU went down I want to play yall over any of the other 1 loss teams. I dont want to play a 1 loss Va Tech or OSU johnny come lately who didnt play anybody. OU was my #1 choice because of the tradition+playing someone different. I hope we get yall but OSU has their excuses lined up well if they have a good showing in the last week.

that is irrelevant. at the end of the season, OSU will be #2 in the computers and Alabama will be #3 if they both win their games

I sure hope they can beat a team that lost to both Texas Tech and Baylor if they want a chance at a BCS bowl at all.

wasn't it stated on the BCS countdown that Bama had 169 of 175 second place votes? Wouldn't Okie State have to pickup over 53 votes?
Seems very unlikely.
The media? Did you watch BCS countdown?

The evening of December 3rd is going to be so much fun for us Tiger fans.....
LSU will be heading to the BCS NCG, and Bama will be crying because they got leaped by OSU

Like I said, the computer polls are more friendly to Ok St than the human polls are right now. They need their SOS to either completely maintain, or get stronger to be able to keep their foot in the door. Then they also have to beat OU...which is a much bigger if than most LSU fans are really making it out to be. If OU beats Iowa St it will make OK St's loss look worse on top of that. If OU loses, OU drops and becomes less influential for the purposes of swaying votes.

you have no clue what you are talking about, just like most of the Bama fans.
hell, just tonight I've come across two idiot Bama fans that didn't even know that it was human poll points that counted in the BCS as opposed to ranking.
fricking idiots, the whole lot of you

If Oklahoma State wins out, they will be #2 in every single computer. It would only take a few coaches/Harris voters in each poll to vote OSU #2 to make this thing extremely close.
OSU needs to be above Bama in 5 of the 6 polls to have a full advantage since you throw away the high and low score. Right now Bama has 2 of the 6. The SEC vs ACC games could help our computer rankings. Iowa State losing to OU will make that loss worse because they'll fall in the computers more. Iowa State is somehow in the top 30 on Sagarin's.
If Bama holds on to the two 2nd place computer votes that they currently have, then it would pretting much be over. If OSU gets 5 out of 6, then it would be more interesting. In the end I still don't see them getting enough votes. Currently their ranks are 6.29 and 6.41 in the human polls. That means they aren't even a consensus number 6. If they run the human polls but teams like Houston steal some votes, then they're still in trouble because they wouldn't be getting enough 3rd place votes to win even if they got just enough second place votes.
The moral of the story in all of this is that the computer polls are insane. The entire Big 12 is in the top 20. How are 6-5 Mizzou and aTm both in the top 16. How is Baylor ranked 7th based on the chess score. How is Kansas State 5? Iowa State is 20th?!?!?!
They don't get a big enough sample size from out of conference games to properly rank things. Based on the conference games you can tell some of the Big 12 teams stink but because they did so well out of conference, the in conference losses almost come without penalty.

I notice how you skipped over this dickhead?
You want to come here and tell us how much you know about the BCS and its shameful we don't understand the intricacies of it, but when I ask a simple question you don't a want to give an answer.
