I just want someone to explain to me where the hell is all our money? We don’t have a measly $25 million to buy him out but other schools have the money to can a coach with $50 million buyouts? What happened to all our sec tv money? The frick did Ray do with all of it? Where did all the money go from record breaking gamecock club membership and ticket sales the last few years? We need to serious audit the athletic department because something don’t pass the smell test.

What a fricking bummer if you’re a Gamecock football fan.

Tf with this "half the talent" BS.

This has been documented, ad infinitum, on these boards. SC has underperformed considering the talent on the roster. It's mismanaged, buried in depth charts (RB, specifically). It's talent that has kept SC in games, and coaching that has lost it, not the inverse.

I hear you, but that assumes coaching is only about X’s and O’s. It’s not. It’s also recruiting, culture, and keeping a locker room together. Admittedly, Beamer's game day behavior have been subject, but he has done pretty well in those other areas. His issue(s) have been hires on the offensive side of the ball. Basically all of his OC choices were misses, and that’s what’s held SC back. Hopefully, that’s something that can be fixed without blowing up the whole program (Like Auburn, LSU and UF seem to like to do....)

Lame Kiffin must be their savior. That is why there is a bidding war going on for Lame Kiffin.

If the SOB could just grow up and hire a competent OC, he'd be perfect for this program. There's an awful lot to like about how he has built everything, excepting the offense.

I want to believe he's capable. I want to, anyway.

I will say one thing for him: If he beats Clemson Saturday he will have won the last 3/4 against the Tigers after inheriting a six game losing streak. That’s pretty noteworthy.

Reality- Probably the third best coach you've had at SC based on what he's done at SC.

He has done some good things at Carolina, but the Shula hire was a bad one.

I keep seeing this but it doesn't make any sense to me. You mean there's absolutely no coach out there that they could hire and that could do better with? Even with all the openings, there has to be literally dozens that can do better.

There absolutely are coaches out there, but its more about playing the odds, the odds are lower currently that their next hire would improve the program.

I'm surprised they kept him. I think theyre giving him one more year. If he doesn't win 8 or more games next season hes gone.

If Chesney up at JMU isn't already sewn up by someone I'd suggest y'all kick the tires on him. East Coast guy and he's won every where he's been.
