As a rule, Tennessee sucks, but Kellie Harper seems pretty great

She's had a bumpy road as head coach at different schools but she is, at the end of the day, Kellie Harper... PG of perhaps the greatest women's basketball team of all time.

Harper has been solid, if not great, at Tennessee so far and she's been really good so far this year.

She's been "just ok" so far, definitely not "great" yet. She's an outstanding person and has the personality for the role, however she has much to prove still as a CEO of a program the magnitude of ours. Recruiting has got to get better. And she has to start getting more out of her girls, especially offensively. Getting the niche core of Tennessee women's basketball boosters aligned in order to get the NIL game going for that program specifically like Mulkey is at LSU is vital moving forward for Harper.

In an ideal world we would lean on our iconic history and just go poach a badass, proven women's coach like Mulkey or Staley. But doubt we ever go full on Game of Thrones for a women's coach, altough imo even if Women's basketball doesn't make money I am of the belief an institution with the unique history that UT has with the sport of women's basketball owes it to themselves, the legacy of Pat Summit, and our alum/fans to always aggressively stive to be dominant within the sport of women's basketball. Afterall, UT/Summitt practically invented the game.

You may know her as Kellie Jolly...she won 3 consecutive National Championships as a player for UT and is their current women's head coach.

Definitely has "the look" lol.

As a boy growing up in that era, I personally always thought Britney Jackson was the finest Lady Vol of those Pat teams. Candace Parker was/is sexy AF too.

I saw her play in high school. Very high basketball IQ, I think she’s a very good coach. 2018-19 MVC coach of the year, upsetting DePaul and Iowa State before losing to Stanford in sweet 16.
I know a lot of people (males) have a negative attitude towards women’s basketball. My uncle started the girls AAU program in Tullahoma,TN back in the early ‘70’s. He was national AAU chairman for years and served on the Olympic committees. There are some great players and teams out there these days.
You’re missing out if you don’t know who Caitlyn Clark is. As soon as she crosses mid court it’s a high percentage shot for her.

I watched girls 6 on 6 basketball back in the day. Who knew they’d be able to play full court.
