According to the article it was 2 million + 1 million over for a total of 3 million million more than last year.

5 million = Big 12 budget
2 million = SEC extra budget
1 million = over extra budget

7 million = total (which is almost double the Ole Miss budget)

Everybody clear now?

As for the derail I have family and friends in KC, STL, and CHI and all places are fine so quit bitching about it.

Back to topic....

Is the black bus the only sports vehicle owned by Mizzou? If not what else to they have for travel?

Man, you're hell bent on making Mizzou Athletic Dept look like fools.

I guess you keep missing the part about the company screwing MU last minute by not having the promised planes. They had to scrabble and spend a lot more than expected.

Also, costs went up from last year to this year, that Big12 budget from the past would have gone up if we stayed. Try applying this info to your understanding.

Also you compare Ole Miss, an extremely centrally located school in their division. Either you're flaming, or just an obtuse dick.

Okay. So Fayetteville is the equivalent of Lincoln. Go ahead and name the SEC equivalent for Ames, lawrence, and Manhattan now.

Starting to catch up?

You border TN and yet you're closer to Oxford, Miss than you are Knoxville. You belong in the West.

Everyone but the Miss school and Arky are far from us in the West.

We have Arky as perma cross rival.

Vandy, UK, TN, and even Georgia are all under 800 miles away. Multiple West schools are over 800 away. It really could go both ways, but the way it's set up with Arky as perma rival is the most efficient. Thanks for playing.

Umm, I just made the comparison that Ames and Fayetteville are essentially the same. You seem to be having the conversation 'you' want to have, instead of having the actual conversation.

Then interchange Ames and Lincoln, same question.

I'll wait for the answer.

I think you're greatly confused, and need to take your own advice about going back to read.

The only thing I said was your post was anti SEC. I said that if you're definitely driving to Ames, you would not maybe be driving to Fayetteville, you definitely would. That's all I said.

My response was to a question asking if we bused more in the Big 12. I said what I said, you said it was an anti SEC answer because I said maybe you drive to Lincoln and Fayetteville.

I guess you don't understand context. I won't expect you to apologize.

You're like the guy drinking alone at the bar that jumps into conversations with pointless shite looking for an argument. I figure from now on I'll handle you the same way I handle that guy.

No, genuinely curious why they did not have better contracts or why they did not sue the folks who had promised the planes. 1 million is not like being out 50K or 100K for such a screw up.

I get where Ole Miss is as I have been there before and I was using the 5 million as the base which is obviously more than Ole Miss spends to start with. That is not being obtuse or flaming as it is allowing for Ole Miss having one of the lowest budgets in the SEC for travel.

The bigger point in all of this was if the Mizzou folks spent 150% on travel will they also be off when it comes to all the upgrades they are making. It is a serious question and as a Mizzou fan who will have to pay for this in ticket prices and donations I would be a bit curious as well and am more surprised you are calling me out for flaming instead of getting on some Mizzou boards and not reading the tea leaves for future seasons.

Bama, Florida, TAMU, LSU, Auburn, Vols, and Hogs are all pulling in over 100 million a year so 1 million is nothing. UGA, UK, and the Cocks are all in the 90 million range. State is at 70 and Vandy is private so that leaves Mizzou and Ole Miss near the bottom in the 50 million range. 7 million in that range is about 15% of the total revenue and about 35% of the check Mizzou gets from the SEC.

This is not rocket science and these are serious questions.

But the difference is... you actually do go to bars alone. And the truth is we're both arguing about something extremely gay on a Fri night on a message board. My excuse is been up till 430 last 2 nights and camping tomorrow, so rest night.

And the fact that you were responding to someone else in that original comment sounds a lot more relevant than it was to our interaction. What I said was just direct, never mind.. Maybe I should quit the reading habit, makes my brain function too well. This is stupid. You know I think you're a shed of tools, I'm out.

How did a discussion of our travel expenses being over budget turn into Missouri fans e-smacking each other around?

Gray, I recommend a few beers, chill out a little.

Oh it's amusing.

How does that absolve you from making a poor analogy. Using Ole Miss, an extremely centrally located school within it's division is a little unfair to compare us to. I'm not sure what the relevance is to you having been there... oh well.

I didn't really read the rest of that jumble.

Yeah making a claim that people in STL as a whole don't identify with the state of Missouri is soo full retard. Especially when this is apparently the same for most large urban areas.

It's because Missouri is in the fricking mid-west

That has nothing to do with budgeting. It's not like Missouri was in the South and then all of a sudden relocated to the Midwest after the budget was done.

FWIW, I didn't take his post as being anti-SEC. It's just facts - we had a cluster of schools that made up the old Big 12 North that were close together. ISU, Nebraska, KSU, kU and Mizzou were close - Colorado was the outlier there - all old Big 8 schools. BUT...the other schools were a different story; Lubbock was further away than Gainesville.

The other thing is destinations - the SEC destinations are so much better it's not even worth discussing. Mangattan, ks, Ames, IA, and Stillwater, OK? Or Lexington, KY, Oxford, MS and Athens, GA? I know which I'd choose, and it's not close - travel distances are not important.

And the article doesn't mention that we MADE MORE MONEY IN THE SEC!!!!!!!! This is a mountain out of a molehill.
And Cheese Grits, I believe Mizzou has at least 2 busses and some trucks, not sure how many. Sorry I don't have more info than that.
