I like that Morris is young enough to still have some fire and goals to reach, whereas Jimbo is probably about ready to just ride it out.

Texas Mack Brown did this to us after the 2009 National championship game. Texas was not equipped personnel wise to run an offense with the new scheme. It decimated the program for years, hard to rebound.

That's your narrative now for why the last ten years have been embarrassingly terrible? Because running a pro-style offense was impossible? That if you just stuck with the Colt McCoy offense you wouldn't have been "decimated"?

God y'all are fricking stupid.

Petrino is program builder. He is also an elite X/O guy. He had prior experience at a Big 6 SEC school. The land scape has shifted as well.

Arkansas used to be 4th in the pecking order behind Auburn, Bama, and LSU. Their advantage over the Mississippi schools was money and facilities. That gap is not as monumental with the SECN money. The Mississippi schools are investing serious resources. They are really paying for coaches and staff and are willing to spend in recruiting.

They both have been to major bowls. The Sugar and the Orange respectively.

Texas A&M and the SECN has pushed Arkansas down a couple notches and you can legitimately make a case that Arkansas is last in the pecking order in the West.

That wasn't the case 5 or 6 years ago.

Arkansas needed to make a statement hire based on how they have fallen. Morris has an extreme uphill battle.

At least wait a few years before making a statement like that...they haven't even played a single game with Jimbo.

State is still behind Arkansas and it isn’t close imo. Ole Miss an argument could be made I guess.

Holy hell, Karnak the Magnificent lives!

We didn't do Morris any favors in recruiting, by helping Gus bend Auburn over, but he did alright.

It seems Chavis pulled in a few good defensive recruits as well. If he brings even a passable defense, that will be a significant improvement.

There will be struggles with a completely new offensive philosophy, there always are. By all means, put an automatic W on the calender. It will make the melt even sweeter when things come together in 2 or 3 years.

Lmao. You are Aggy. AGGY. Aggy hired a coach looking to retire and are expecting great things. Nick Saban couldn't win at Aggy. You are Arkansas's bitch

If you honestly think those kids could have committed to any of the schools they "passed up" to play at Arky, then you are in for an epic season! One in which your team only loses the games it wants to lose and you will have a National Championship Twitter parade next December. (You're not going to a bowl, but only because you passed them all up in favor of an extended bass fishing vacation.) CONGRATS!

Mississippi State is dead center of the middle of SEC country. Location, additional funds, and some success have closed that gap tremendously.

Mississippi State was #1 in the country and went to the Orange Bowl. They could finish 2nd in the West next year. They bring back a good team. They could win 10 regular season games and go to another major Bowl. They have momentum.

I'm not saying they have permanently passed Arkansas, but it's similar to when South Carolina passed Tennessee in the East pecking order. South Carolina eventually fell back down, but the gap is substantially closer going forward.

Kiffen would provide the same or better offensive production as Morris and is an elite recruiter. That would have gotten some actual players to come to Fayetteville.

He would have put together a much better staff as well.

After having the worst coach in Arkansas history and blowing records away year after year in a negative way.

All we can do is get better.

I feel the fear setting in on Aggie nation. Enjoy your little 6 year run against the Hogs.

Was Bert really the worse in Arky history? Legit question...I don't know.
