I am just going to go ahead and put that out there.

Dline is one of the top 3 in the conference. Return LB's Franklin and Nelson. One of the best safeties in the SEC in Thomas. 2 of the best rush ends in the SEC on the outside. Return Winston and Madison on the corners.

there's a pretty good chance that you will have the best defensive unit in the state of arkansas.

i'd put money on it.

First team defense should be good. Everything I read about Arky from your own homer writers think your corners and your other safety are suspect. Also depth might be an issue.

with your returning players should be a good d though.

I think Rkansas will have a depth problem due to their schedule..
if they do have the best d in the sec they will be nat. champs..

"He who thinks only of number one must remember this number is next to nothing."
With that said when was the last time Arky won the SEC title in football?

If by "Top" you mean top 5 in the SEC, yes.

Anything more than that is asking a little much out of our program. Deep inside, you know that is true.

I honestly believe we'll finish in the top 20 nationally if Robert Thomas lives up to expectations.

Agreed (with the top 5 in conference...not number 1 by a long shot though). I think our D line will be very good. Our starting linebackers should be good, but our second line is unproven. Thomas is a very solid safety...but across from him is a liability. And corner is scary, there is potential there but no two have shown the consistency to do much more than tackle down field.

My honest opinion is that our defense will be better than last year, but so will LSU and Bama...and they will still be well in front of us. I think our D line will be better than either of theirs, but after that we have serious problems compared to their back seven. If we finish third in scoring defense it will be a hell of an achievement, but I'm thinking more like 5th which would still make us an extremely good football team assuming our offensive tackle play is at least as good as it was in 2009.
