San Francisco will be the hosting team.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas will play three games at AT&T Park in San Francisco in 2014, coach Dave Van Horn said Monday.
The Razorbacks will play California, San Francisco and Tulane as part of the three-day event. It will be Arkansas' first trip to the Golden State since a series at Cal in 2010.

Pretty cool for the players, absolutely love that ballpark.

Arkansas schedules the best most interesting non conference games/locations I've ever seen. recruiting California, good call.

Meh, shitty thread title.

Tulane in the title will get quite a few hits from LSU people.

I'd love to go.

I want to see that ballpark in person so bad but I hate the Giants.

I wonder if they'll do any travel packages like football or basketball? Not sure if they do those for baseball.

Maybe put 'baseball' in the title just to be safe

If someone couldn't put that together they probably shouldn't be reading this board.

That should be fun for the players and fans. AT&T is a fantastic ballpark.

I wonder what the attendance will be to see those 4 programs.

I didn't see Cal listed on the 2013 list of schools averaging more than 1200 fans per game. Ditto for San Francisco. Obviously, Arkansas is a great draw (by college baseball standards) -- pulling in 7642 per home game. Tulane pulls in 1952 per home game.

I'm just thinking that AT&T Park is a little big for this series.

But still an awesome venue even for a Bad News Bears game (Astrodome FTW).

I went to some of the games in the Superdome back when Skip had the Winn-Dixie Showdown (Louisiana vs. Mississippi) with a crowd of nearly 14k. But that was a close drive for all fanbases involved.

There's a tournament every year at Minute Maid in Houston as well.

Probably a few more in MLB parks and non of them really draw all that well, it's college baseball.

Yup.

This year's teams were:
Rice, Houston, A&M and Baylor
California (how about that?) and North Carolina

So four local teams plus a North Carolina team that was in the CWS final not so long ago.

I couldn't find this year's attendance numbers but here is 2010 (Houston, TCU, Texas, Rice, Mizzou and Texas Tech):

quote:

Attendance for all 3 days:
10,706 - Friday
9,817 - Saturday
8,119 - Sunday

I did find the attendance for this year's Houston/A&M game. It drew 3868 on a sunny day (58 degrees).

Based on that, I'm thinking 4k would be a great turnout for any of the games at AT&T Park. Unless Bay Area folks really love them some college ball (doubtful) or Arkansas brings a lot of folks out to the West Coast. Not much chance of Cal or San Francisco doing much to draw a crowd.

Beautiful park though. It was on ESPN yesterday for a Dodgers/Giants game.

I went to a game there last week while I was out in SF. Very nice park and the location/view is amazing.

Get the garlic fries if you go. Killer.

I agree. They see the writing on the wall and trying to solicit a move to the PAC 12 by accepting the invitation to this showcase.
