LSU, Alabama, and USC will be the top 3 in some order. I'd assume Oregon and Oklahoma would round out the top 5.

Arkansas will start top 10. They will finish higher than they are ranked in the preseason though, IMO.

Jon H....I am now a big of fan of Arky as anyone... but "the dream" dies the minute the ball is kicked versus bama...maybe the year after next depending on how many of LSU juniors declare for the 2013 draft.

I doubt it. Unless Arky can upset bama or LSU at home, they are looking at three losses minimum. AU will kick their arse in Jordan Hare, so 4th in the West is the most likely scenario for the piglets next year.

I don't see you guys beating them next year. Sorry.

Auburn's schedule is really hard again next year. I honestly see you guys right around 7-5 again. Clemson could be a loss to start the season. @State is a loss, IMO. You will lose at least 2 of 3 to LSU, Arkansas, and Alabama. Then throw a home game against Georgia in there as well? Brutal.

7-5?

Ok. Wait and see. Arky, LSU, UGA in Jordan Hare. We will win 2/3.

I mean, you are going to lose to LSU.

So are basically saying that you guys will beat both Arkansas and Georgia, who could both be preseason top 10 teams.

BayouBengals03, I guess we'll have to wait for an answer on that one.

I'll be surprised if AU wins any of those 3 games...home or not.

win and be in the sec, preseason doesnt matter if you do those two things nowadays.

This. If we're in top 20 at he start it shouldn't matter. In the games.

What makes you say this? Because there is a recent history of AU kicking Arkansas' arse on the plains?

Arkansas is 3-3 against AU on the Plains since 2000. Arkansas has won by 21, 17, and 3 points.

Arkansas won at home by 24 points this past season. AU lost their OC, best RB, and needs to make big improvements on the defensive side of the ball. I do not see AU making up a 24 point difference in a single year against the Hogs. period.

yahoo/rivals released one poll that had us at #6 the other day.

Being in the top 10 pre-season will be a good enough start to make some noise with a home win over Bama.

I like the defense Arkansas has coming back and the new DC. It won't be as good as LSU or Bama's, but it should be more than okay.

Is the conversation about being top 3 or about being "more than okay"?

If our defense was more than OK this year then we keep it much closer against Bama and LSU.
