I really wasn't aware just how talented Ryan Mallet was. With that sonofabitch at QB, a good head coach like Petrino, and a whole bunch of starters returning I think they could be in the top 25 not 1-10 but definitely 18-25 range.

What are y'alls thoughts?

Surely not preseason ranked, but could make a run to finish in the 18-25 range. That's if there defense is better than the limp noodle it was last year.

I think they are going to give the SEC fits this year, and mostly because of Michael Smith, not necessarily Ryan Mallett. That kid is a good back.

Not in the pre-season...Our schedule is just too tough next year. I say we win an early one at home against UGA that could spark some interest.

No

I see us with 7 to 9 wins, post Bowl.

The schedule is just too tough.
@UF, @Bama, @OM, @LSU, UGA at home and Texas A&M at Cowboys new stadium

Ya'll run them out of Dallas.

Mike Sherman we hardly knew you, but Tubbs thanks you for the effort, or lack there of.

I'd love to see Tuberville at TAMU.

Well they've been wanting him for a long time, and it's always been a rumor.

The entire SEC, not just the west, will be much improved in 2009. I see all twelve teams being bowl eligible. Ten teams will go bowling, with State and SCAR staying home.

I see Arky at 8-5, including the bowl game.

Mark it down.

Florida= Where America's eldery go to die.

TAMU= Where Alabama's state schools coaches go to fail?

I am not that optimistic. I think 6 or 7 wins.

The defense will not have improved enough and we lost a couple of good linemen. Nor do I think our receivers are good enough yet. Last year our best receiver was a tight end.

We lost 1 tops. Not to mention, a year of strength training for 2 FRESHMAN that started. Shepard is one of the best in the SEC

Talent-wise they are very solid...No JJ...But Childs is waaayy underrated and J Wright is one of the fastest players in the SEC. Joe Adams = Dexter McCluster...

Yup...He'll be an All-American this year

I am that optimistic

And those same schools were just as tough prior to Hogs joining SEC.In SWC,after Horns and Aggies,Hogs padded their win stats in a weak conference. Quit whining about the schedule and play!

I think Arkansas will be very deadly very soon under Petrino. Look at what he did at Louisville.

Beat up teams in C-USA and the Big East?

Look what Petrino did at Atlanta?
Not that it matters.
The only thing that matters is what he is doing at Arkansas.
I for one am not too scared.
Arkansas won't be any better than they were when Nutt was there...And if they do, it will be a slight improvement at the most.
